An action-packed sci-fi series featuring teens with superpowers fighting otherworldly evil forces.

The first book of a series following the aftermath of Gone, it follows some young characters determined to defy their fates in the post-FAYZ world.

Another expansion to Percy Jackson, this time following a Norse demigod in his trials to prevent Ragnarok.

A very gay take on the legends of Achilles.

Basically a Drarry vampire fan fiction masked as a fantasy novel about two boys who hate each other at a magical school (but nontheless wonderfully written)

A thoughtful novel about growing up queer in the shady part of town.

An insight into what it's like to grow up gay and anxious in the Southwest United States.

A heartbreaking novel about a girl sent to conversion camp by the love of her life.

A fantastic novel written in the form of a play following the life of the wonderful gay best friend in Will Grayson, Will Grayson.

7. 'Everything All At Once' by Katrina Leno

A marvelous novel about losing someone you love, and learning to cope with anxiety and take a chance on life.

Queer Rep: The main character's best friend is an adorable lesbian, and she also has a girlfriend who is involved in the plot.

6. 'The Rest Of Us Just Live Here' by Patrick Ness

A boy with OCD living in a fantasy world, but he's only a background character in the Indie Kid's fight to save humanity.

Queer Rep: His best friend is a gay god of cats.

5. 'The Upside of Unrequited' by Becky Albertalli

Falling in love is no fun, especially when it's only ever one sided.

Queer Rep: The twin sister of the narrator is a lesbian with an amazing girlfriend.

4. 'Love, Simon' by Becky Albertalli

The gay love story of our time which we all know and love, featuring the ever awkward and adorable Simon.

Queer Rep: Three gay boys.

3. 'Leah on the Offbeat' by Becky Albertalli

The sequel to Love, Simon, following his best friend Leah, and her struggles as a high school closet case.

2. 'Suicide Notes from Beautiful Girls' by Lynn Weingarten

The most brilliant murder mystery book of our time, following a best friend determined to prove that it wasn't a suicide.
