Laapataa Ladies Movie Ending Explained

So at the beginning of the movie, we are shown a scene from 2001 where we see a village couple being bid farewell after their marriage, in which the boy's name is Deepak and the girl's name is Phool Kumari.

Actually, two days had passed since Deepak's new marriage; all the family members of Deepak had gone, and the girl's grandmother wanted to do a puja before taking her away.

Then, after the puja was over, Deepak or Phool went home. Phool's mother advises him that you are married, so do not lift your veil. Now let me tell those who are not Indians that in some places in India, especially villages, Girls follow a ritual after marriage, which means they have to cover their faces.

Now back to the topic. Deepak or Phool both set out to go to their home and reach a station, and on the way, Deepak took off his wife's jewelry and kept it to himself. These people start their further journey on the train, where people like them who are newly married, like Deepak or Phool, are present.

Then the story moves forward, and other people from the bride and groom's family, especially the groom's mother, start talking to Deepak or Phool, like, Have you also got a new marriage, and what do you want from the girl's side? Deepak does not give any kind of reply, and she starts telling herself openly that we got a bike, cash, etc. from the girl's side.

I again want to tell those who are not Indians that whenever a boy and a girl get married in India,. So the boy gets many things from the girl's side, like cash, a car, a bike, a home, etc.

So she tells Deepak that we have received a lot of dowry, i.e., gifts from the girl's family, but the groom is still not satisfied because he wanted a little more dowry.

Then, after some time, Deepak gets a seat to sit; he first gets his wife to sit, but finally he also gets a seat to sit; then Deepak goes to the toilet after telling his wife Phool; only then does the train stop at the station, and the crowd enters the train, i.e., a lot of people, and slowly Deepak's bride Phool shifts to the window side.

Now those two newlywed couples are also sitting around Deepak or Phool, and the train is also very crowded. Now Deepak had reached the station at night, so he hurriedly took someone else's bride with him, and that bride is unable to see because of the veil and goes with Deepak. Then she realizes that he is not her husband, but despite that, she is ready to go with Deepak.

We will know later why she does this.

Then Deepak reaches his village, and his friends welcome him with great enthusiasm. When they reach home and the real face of the bride is revealed, everyone gets shocked because someone else has come in place of Phool. Then the girl says that her name is Pushpa, and she accidentally came with Deepak.

Now Deepak's father scolds him a lot, saying that how can someone forget his wife like an item? Hearing this, Deepak gets worried about what would happen to his real wife, Phool, because she does not even know that Deepak got down from the train.

Then Deepak's family asks Phool about her village, and she tells him that she is a resident of Gangapur, but there were many villages in Gangapur, and Pushpa did not even know where her in-laws were. She just tells her husband's name as Pankaj, and she also has a number that she gives to Deepak, but that number is also wrong. Now Deepak's family gives shelter to Pushpa in their house and says that she will stay here until her house is found. Then Deepak and all his friends set out to search for Phool.

On the other side, when Phool opens her eyes, she gets down from the train and starts searching for Deepak, but she does not find Deepak anywhere, and Prateek also starts searching for his wife, who is right now at Deepak's house. Then, from Pratik's words, it is understood that he is not sad about the loss of his wife. He said that now he has a dowry, so even if he gets his wife, what should he do with it?

Seeing Pushpa's actions, it seemed as though she was hiding something from everyone.

Now she was completely alone at the Phool station and was also scared. Soon it was morning, and she met a man whom she got scared of and started running away. Then she collided with a boy named Chhotu. She tells him that she is lost at the station.

After which, Chhotu takes her to the station master, where the station master asks Phool the name of her in-laws' village, but she does not know anything. He then asks her the name of her husband, and Phool refuses to take the name. Because according to tradition, the wife does not take her husband's name; hence, she shows her mehendi, and after that, the master comes to know that her husband's name is Deepak.

The station master recommends Phool go to the police, but she says that she is afraid to go there, so Chhotu takes her to a grandmother who runs a tea and samosa stall at the station. Now that grandmother believes that Deepak has cheated on Phool, Phool does not take grandmother's words seriously but says that he cannot do this, and I am sure that he will be searching for me.

Grandma agrees to help Phool.

Now Deepak goes to the police station to find out about Phool and starts telling everything to Inspector Manohar. The inspector gets suspicious of his wife and starts making fun of Deepak. How can a man lose his wife somewhere?

Inspector Manohar tells Deepak to come to the police station tomorrow with Pushpa, and he thinks about solving the case. However, the biggest challenge was how he would be able to recognize Phool because, in the photo that Deepak had shown to Inspector, Phool's face was covered.

Once again, Pushpa's husband Prateek enters the story, who comes to the police station to register his wife's missing complaint, and it is revealed that this was the second marriage of Prateek because he had burned his first wife alive, but this was not proved in court.

When Deepak comes home tired, his family members create a ruckus that Pushpa is not found anywhere. After some time, Pushpa returns and says that she has gone to the temple. Then Deepak tells her that tomorrow you will have to come with me to the police station.

At the same time, inspector Manohar is working on this missing case, and he comes across a similar case from another village, which was Prateek's, in which the girl's name was mentioned as Jaya, so he feels that something is wrong. At night, it is seen that Pushpa is talking to someone on the phone.

Now, grandmother gives Phool advice that she should also seek help from the police, but Phool does not do so. Then, in the next scene, Pushpa's mysteries start to unfold. We come to know that she has a tattoo with the name Jaya on her hand, which means she is hiding her real name from everyone.

Now, as the inspector had told Deepak to come to the police station with Pushpa, he does the same.

Inspector Manohar asks some questions from Pushpa, like where her house is and her in-laws' house, and in the mostly asked questions, Pushpa says she doesn't know anything.

And seeing all this, the inspector's suspicion of Pushpa is increasing, suggesting that she is definitely hiding something.

Then he asks Pushpa about any marks on her body, and Pushpa shows him the name written on her hand. Pushpa had changed the name Jaya to Shriya, and she makes the excuse that her grandfather used to call her Shriya. That's why I have written this name, and Inspector asks to take her photo, but she denies, and Inspector Manohar asks her to leave.

But then Inspector Manohar calls Pushpa Jaya when she is leaving, and Pushpa suddenly gets scared and turns back to look at her. The inspector understands that she is doing the wrong thing.

In the next scene, we see Grandma and Phool together. Grandma is telling Phool that I threw my husband and son out of the house because they used to beat me after drinking; hence, now she lives alone. Then Phool, along with Grandma. She uses her creativity, like making sweets, and all her sweets get sold out.

This is how Phool's life is going on in the meantime.

And now we see that Inspector is following Pushpa everywhere she goes, who she talks to, etc. He keeps an eye on her movements, like she is selling some of her jewelry.

And similarly, in the story, it is revealed that Pushpa is a well-educated woman, and she also has knowledge about farming.

Deepak then asks for help from a leader, but you already know how leaders are; they keep Deepak with them for their own benefit. After that, the leader goes on his way.

At night, when Deepak and his friends are drinking, his friend says that many days have passed since Phool went missing; who knows, someone might have done something wrong to him. Deepak has a fight with his friends over this matter, after which Deepak comes home drunk and Pushpa takes care of him. Deepak was taking Phool's name again and again.

The next day, Pushpa asks Deepak's sister-in-law to make someone's painting because Deepak's sister-in-law is a very good painter.

Inspector Manohar receives a fax from another police station that had Pushpa's photo, and here it is revealed that her real name is Jaya. On seeing this, the inspector goes to arrest Jaya. And he tells Deepak that she was deliberately hiding her real identity, knowing that Deepak asks to arrest Jaya and does not listen to Jaya as to what she wants to say.

Now Jaya is taken to the police station and is also informed at another police station that the girl has been found, and then Deepak's friends come to him and tell him that Jaya is not a fraud, but she has placed Phool's poster. installed in place

And he had gotten Phool's photo made by Deepak's sister-in-law because Deepak's sister-in-law had seen Phool at his wedding.

Here in the scene, we see Phool, who gets his poster, and the address of the village is written on it. The name of the village was Surajmukhi, after which the station master makes Phool sit in the train going to the same village.

Deepak goes to the police station and finds out the truth from Jaya, who says that she topped the 12th grade and wanted to study organic farming in Dehradun. But her family members forced her to get married and sold all the agricultural land for her dowry, after which, two days before the marriage, she came to know that Prateek had killed his first wife because of dowry. But Phool remained silent after seeing the condition of her parents.

Jaya further says that when Deepak asked her to go with him, she remained silent, thinking that as soon as she got a chance, she would go to Dehradun for her studies; hence, till now, she was sending money to her cousin Hema. Then she further says that she was going to Dehradun yesterday itself, but Deepak was drunk and worried about Phool, seeing which Jaya printed Phool posters so that Deepak could meet Phool, and my number was mentioned in them.

Then Jaya asks Inspector Manohar to check her phone, and there is a call from the station master that shows that Phool is about to reach their village. On hearing this, Deepak goes to take Phool, where he finds Phool, and he is very happy with it.

Now Prateek comes to the police station to take Jaya, and he also offers money to the inspector to suppress this matter. Then, as soon as Jaya comes there, Prateek slaps her. At the same time, Inspector Manohar stops Prateek and says, My job was to find Jaya, but now it is Jaya's choice whether she wants to go with you or not, on which Jaya makes it clear, and Manohar sends Prateek home by threatening him not to bother Jaya after today.

Inspector Manohar gives Jaya the rest of her jewelry, which he confiscated, and tells her to go to Dehradun and study diligently.

Now the scene changes and Jaya is leaving for Dehradun. Deepak's friend, through Deepak, expresses his feelings to Jaya that she should keep writing letters to him because he liked Jaya, and this movie ends here.
