Trisha Cast and Jess Walton

Monday's episode of The Young and the Restless will be quite a milestone. The CBS daytime drama which debuted in 1973 will air its 12,000th episode. Trisha Cast will reprise her role as Nina and come to town to view the nuptials between her son Chance and Abby Newman. Jess Walton will also be on hand as Jill. Previews have shown Abby upsetting Mariah because she has cold feet. She will actually say she is not sure she cannot go through with the wedding. Spoilers from Soaps.com. however, reveal that the couple will have unexpected surprises on their honeymoon on Wednesday so the marriage obvikously does take place.

Spoilers reveal that Nina has a special gift for the newlyweds and Jack will be reflecting upon the past between the Newmans, Abbotts, and Chancellors. Celeb Dirty Laundry says Jill will revert to form and will get into an argument with Esther while at the Chancellor mansion. At some point, she will resort to talking to a portrait of Katherine. CDL also reveals that Mariah will find Abby locked in her suite and panicking. It seems Ms. Newman will be thinking about 3 of her failed relationships and wondering if she should marry Chance. Jack and Jill will recall the good times they had at the home of Katherine Chancellor while Devon deals with his own personal memories.

Back at Abby's suite, she is going to be so troubled that Chance will have to show up and talk her down. He will convince her that he loves her and the past does not matter. CDL also reveals that Nina and Chance first meet up at Crimson Lights where he asks his mother to be his best man. She graciously accepts but Chance could have asked Paul Williams. This would have ensured viewers of seeing Doug Davidson on screen. He is not mentioned but there is always a chance that he and Lauralee Bell, (Cristine) might turn up at the wedding. Paul is Chance's boss and aside from Adam the closest man to him in Genoa City.

Donny Boaz, (Chance) tested positive for COVID so Melissa Ordway's real life husband Justin Gaston has temporarily stepped into the role. Gaston will be involved with the wedding scenes and viewers are hoping to see some honeymoon romance. Since the couple is really married, they will not have to abide by social distancing rules. Soap Dirt says Boazis already back filming so he should show up on screen soon. Thus far The Young and the Restless has not taken advantage of real lie couples. Briton James and Britny Sarpy are dating off screen but in Genoa City, Devon and Elena broke up. Mark Grossman and Sharon Case are dating in real time, but in reel time they have not hooked up.

Longtime viewers will enjoy seeing action taking place at the Chancellor mansion, along with the antics from Jill and Esther. Nina returning will make it all seem like old times and Paul and Christine in this episode would be the icing on the cake. Jess Walton and Trisha Cast will not be sticking around Genoa City but it will be fun while they are in town. The rest of the week will be pretty much business as usual. Victor will think that Billy is guilty of trying to kill Adam, Victoria will want to bury the hatchet with her father temporarily.

There will be plenty of flashbacks on Monday and Tuesday to celebrate the 12,000th episode which Sopa Dirt says is actually on Tuesday. Fans will enjoy the trip down memory lane to the glory days of Genoa City. Head writer Josh Griffith has promised to bring these good old days back but thus far he has not kept this promise. Be sure to tune in Monday and Tuesday for the wedding and a bit of nostalgia as The Young and the Restless goes down memory lane. For a short time, the Abbotts, Newmans, and Chancellors will all be on one accord. Don't worry because it will soon be business as usual again.
