James Earl Jones is an actor and a TV celebrity. He is popular and well known for his voice-over as Darth Vader in Lucas’s Blockbuster film Star Wars and as the voice-over speaker for CNN cable TV. He has also penned books named Voices and Silences.

Jones once was harshly plagued by a stutter before he was well known for some of the most remarkable lines ever uttered in the record of American movies. Now, this 91-year-old actor has been known all over America as one of the most outstanding and versatile actors for his actions in movies, theatre, and TV, and also one of the most incredible actors ever in American history.

James Earl Jones is Catholic. He converted to Catholicism during his time in the army.

Jones entered the army in 1953, serving as a soldier who confronts the enemy in very close vicinity, in a training program in Colorado. He then enrolled in more acting programs and shifted to New York City. He smoothed theatre floors and got his first competent role in a theatre presentation called wedding in Japan. Although he was barely unemployed after that. In the late 1950s, his earnings per week averaged about 45 bucks.

He says that the Catholic church was the only thing he had that was not geared towards the art of assassinating, which he had transformed during his period in the military, and also the finished works of Shakespeare.

Jone’s colonel in the military told him he would encourage him to retrieve his commission if his acting profession didn't work out. Jones wanted to turn to act as his father was an actor and he said that something in him was strange about acting.

James Earl Jones was born on 17th January 1931 in Arkabutla, Mississippi, and was the only child of Robert Earl and Ruth Connolly, Jones. Before Jones was born his father left to follow a career as a boxer and then as an actor later on. Ruth Jones, however separated from her son for long intervals to get to work.

This time was during the tremendous darkness, which was a moment of great slowing down of the United States’ system of production, measurement, and consumption of goods and employment resulting in numerous Americans losing their occupations. Jones told Newsweek that because of these circumstances his childhood furies and memories will come out, no matter how old the character he plays, and that he appreciates this.

Mr. Jones was granted an entire scholarship for studying medicine, which he initially wished to examine, at the University of Michigan. He promptly changed his major in theatre, but originally took acting lessons only as entertainment. He was 21 years old when he visited New York City to unite with his father for the very first time.

His connection with his father was distanced because of the many years they had been away from each other, but then Jones's father motivated him to adopt a career in theatre. He passed with a Bachelor's degree in acting from Michigan in 1953. With a career spanning over six decades, Jones has accomplished victory in numerous areas of entertainment and is among the few actors awarded an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony.
