How do I reset my Norton password?

If you forgot your username or password, you can retrieve them and set a new password for your account.

If you do not have access to your old email or if you did not receive your password reset email, please contact Member Services and Support for assistance.

Reset your account password

  • Go to the I forgot my password page.
  • Enter the email address you used to make your purchase or to create your account.
  • Click Continue.
  • Norton sends you an email with password reset instructions if there is an account with that email address.
  • If you don't receive the password reset email within a few minutes, please check your spam or junk folders. Norton password recovery emails have the following details:
  • From: [email protected]
  • Subject: Reset your Norton LifeLock password
  • Open the email and click the Reset Password button.
  • If your email account is not active, please contact us at Member Services and Support.
  • Enter and update a new password for your account.
  • The password is case sensitive and must be 8 characters or longer and must contain at least uppercase and lowercase letters, one number, and one symbol.

Retrieve your username that you use to log in

  • Go to Forgot your username?
  • Enter the email address you used to make your purchase or to create your account.
  • Click Continue.
  • Norton sends you an email if there is an account associated with that email address. Follow the instructions provided.

How to reset the setup password for your Norton product?

If you have tried to protect your Norton product settings with a password to prevent unauthorized access and now you have forgotten your Norton product password, you can reset the password by visiting the "Uninstall Preferences" window.

To gain password reset access, you must choose the 'uninstall Norton product' option, but you do not need to uninstall the Norton setup product to access setup. The password reset settings option will be visible in the "select your uninstall preference" window only if it is enabled.

In this article, I know how to reset your Norton product setup password, if you forgot your Norton product password.

To use the password protection option in Norton product settings:

• Visit the main Norton product window.

• Click on the 'Settings' option.

• Select the 'Administrative Settings' option.

• Click on the 'Product Security' option.

Follow the steps to reset the setup password for your Norton product:

1. Do any of the following on the Windows taskbar:

• In Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7, click the 'Start' option and then click 'Control Panel'.

• In Windows 8, under Windows System, click the 'Control Panel' option.

• In Windows 10, click on the 'Start' option and then under 'Windows System', click on the 'Control Panel' option.

2. Do any of the following in the Windows Control Panel:

• In Windows XP, click 'Add/Remove Programs'.

• In Windows Vista, double-click 'Programs and Features'.

• In Windows 7 or Windows 8, click the 'Programs' option, 'Programs and Features'.

• In Windows 10, click the 'Uninstall a program' option.

3. Choose any option from the list of currently installed programs-

• In Windows XP, select the 'Norton Product' and then click the 'Change/Remove' option.

• In Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 10, select the 'Norton product' and then click the 'Uninstall/Change' option.

4. Choose 'reset setup password' at the bottom of the uninstall preference selection window.

5. In the display box, enter the randomly generated key shown on the Reset Password key.

6. Enter the new password in the new password box.

7. Type the new password again to confirm.

8. Click on the 'OK' option.
