Elephants read your soul. Let’s spend the holiday in Africa with them.

Following an adventure, Holiday in the Wild was released to Netflix in 2019. When her husband declares a divorce, Kate flies out on a trip to Africa. This trip is enlightening. Helping out on an elephant reserve, Kate learns more about her calling in life and a brewing romance.

I had the biggest smile on my face while watching Holiday in the Wild. This film was not what I was expecting. Sometimes you need a vacation to get away from reality. Holiday in the Wild is an enlightening story detailing life in Africa, elephants, and a love story.

Kristin Davis’s smile is her best trait as she ventures out of her comfort zone. Trying to find her purpose, Kate never thought she’d find it in Africa. Kate’s strong enthusiasm helps the elephant reserve in many ways. Guiding us on how to find our smiles again, Kate teaches audiences a valuable lesson that eventually it will all work out in the end.

I enjoyed the growing interactions between Kate and Derek (Rob Lowe). Lowe was excellent in the build of his character. Nobody ever knows what anyone is going through in their personal lives. You can’t run away from your feelings forever.

At first, I thought that Luke (John Owen Lowe) wouldn’t have as much involvement in the story. Thankfully, he does. Holiday in the Wild beckons the importance of communication among families. Luke makes a good point. Make your life what you want it to be with what makes you happy now instead of waiting.

The cast of the film did an excellent job. Credits to include Fezile Mpela, Colin Cross, Waldemar Schultz, Hayley Owen, and an ensemble in the Africa scenes. The only character who didn’t make sense to the plot was Leslie (Owen). Her character never felt necessary even though she was written as a roadblock for the main duo’s relationship.

Holiday in the Wild is all about culture. Get ready to see all kinds of elephants. They were so adorable, especially the baby elephants! The elephants added an endearing quality to the film.

I wanted to join the characters in all their expeditions around Africa, especially when they were tending to all the animals. I felt like I learned something about elephants and how they impact the world. As described in the film, elephants read your soul.

Spending four years in the making, it’s because of Kristin Davis that we have this film. The elephants seen on film lived on the grounds of Africa. They were not trained. Life in Africa is given a positive depiction. Movies are for learning about different cultures.

Holiday in the Wild is a film that will make you smile. Ernie Barbarash expresses the value of change. Change helps us grow. Barbarash conquered a depiction of Africa, interactions among characters, and the moral. The cinematography is also beautiful, capturing the photogenic landscape.

Now I want to buy an elephant. Being in midst of the pandemic, we still need to make an effort to discover the world. The film also projects themes like kindness, wildlife preserves, and learning to find you again. I connected with this film. As I have learned, it’s important to stay focused on what you love to do instead of following in someone else’s footsteps.

Holiday in the Wild is a feel-good film for all audiences, especially animal enthusiasts. I don’t agree with reviews that say this film was sappy or predictable. It’s all about life. Check the film out this holiday season.
