Have you ever had to clean out your attic, garage, or basement? It's not the most exciting task. But what if I told you it could be a fun treasure hunt? Many items in homes worldwide are worth a lot of money, even though they're just gathering dust. You might have some of these items in your own home!

Think about your old game cartridges, trading cards, toys, and books you've forgotten. These could be worth hundreds or even thousands of dollars. It's amazing what people collect these days. So, why not roll up your sleeves and go on a little treasure hunt? Let's find some valuable items you might have hidden in your home.

In 2015, a woman from San Francisco was cleaning out her garage when she stumbled across an old computer that her family hadn't used in decades. Without much thought, she dropped it off at a recycling station and drove away, not realizing what she had just given away.

But it turns out that this wasn't just any old computer. It was an Apple-1, the very first computer created by the founders of Apple, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, in 1976. And get this: only 200 of them were ever made.

You might be thinking, "So what?" "It's just an old computer." But because of Apple's trillion-dollar success, these computers are now precious. In fact, at auction, an Apple-1 sold for over $900,000! Can you imagine?

So, the lesson here is to think twice before you throw away old electronics. You never know what hidden treasures are lying in your garage or basement.

Let's talk about Lego. Who hasn't played with those iconic bricks and yellow figurines? They're amazing, right?

But did you know that not all Lego is created equal? By teaming up with big franchises like Marvel, Lego has made some seriously nifty limited-edition sets for fans to collect. Take, for example, the limited-edition Comic-Con 2013 series. These little figurines were based on Marvel superheroes and were only available through a raffle.

If you're like me, you might think a Lego prize like this is just a fun little thing to add to your toy collection or maybe give away to Goodwill. But, boy, would you be wrong! Some of these limited edition Lego figures, like Spider-Man and Spider-Woman, can be worth a ton of money!

The next time you come across a limited edition Lego set, take your time to dismiss it. It could be worth way more than you think!

Can you believe some Lego figurines are so rare that they can fetch tons of money from collectors? When they were first released, some of these limited edition figurines were being bid on for over $350 on eBay! And now, as Marvel has grown in popularity, their value has only increased. For example, Spider-Woman is now listed for auction at around $5,800, and Spider-Man is listed for more than $16,000. Talk about a serious pay gap!

At the end of the '80s, handheld consoles were introduced with the release of Nintendo's Game Boy in 1989.

Can you believe that back in the day, a Game Boy cost just $89.99? That's around $200 in today's money! But even though it's been decades since its release, the Game Boy is still highly valued by collectors today.

If you're a Star Wars fan, you've probably collected figurines of your favorite characters from the franchise to recreate your favorite scenes. These figurines were relatively inexpensive back in the 1970s. However, with Star Wars becoming a worldwide phenomenon and later acquired by Disney, they've become legendary. The 1979 Boba Fett J-Slot rocket-firing prototype is one of those that is in high demand.

Only 100 of these prototype figurines were ever made due to a problem with the firing mechanism, which rendered them ineligible for total production. As a result, they were replaced with a much simpler laser gun.

Because they're so rare, these three and 3/4-inch-tall figurines fetch a hefty price, regardless of their condition. But one in mint condition, still in its original packaging, sold for more than $185 in 2019. Wait, my mistake. Did I say $185? I meant $180,850!

Let me tell you about the Beanie Baby craze of the 1990s. These little bean-filled bears with their iconic heart-shaped TY tags were all the rage. You could get them for as little as $10 or as much as $75 per baby, and with 822 different ones to collect, it was an expensive hobby. But by the 2000s, their popularity had plummeted, and most were worth nothing.

However, some diehard collectors are still willing to pay top dollar for the unique ones, like the rare, bright white Valentino bears with many errors on its tag. If you keep any of those Beanie Babies in pristine condition, it's worth looking to see if you might have a small fortune in your closet.

For example, the bright white Valentino bear with multiple errors on the tag is considered one of the rarest, and it was sold for a whopping $42,300 in 2019! Gobbles, the turkey Beanie Baby, is also valuable due to errors on the tag and a double waddle. If you have any rare ones lying around in your closet, you could be sitting on a goldmine.

It might be worth taking a look in your attic or storage space to see if you have any valuable items lying around. Have you ever found something in your home that you had no idea was valuable? Let me know in the comments below!
