Most Infuriating Moments

Just like everyone else I have watched and rewatched Grey’s anatomy countless times. Everyone has their favorite characters and opinions on the show and its plot points. And though there are many things that could focus on when talking about Grey’s Anatomy I thought I would go with my own personal; Most infuriating moments. These aren’t up for debate ya’ll, I’m not taking comments these are just the most irritating things that happened on this show and we are going to go in order, starting with season 1.

Season 1

I’m gonna be honest, season 1 was pretty solid. I had no major issues with anything that happened in season 1.

Season 2

Okay not specific episode because it happens over several but Derek not getting divorced. Now here’s the thing if he had just chosen Addison I probably would have been fine but Merideth asked him straight up, Is there any reason to hesitate? And he looks her in the face and says “no”. Then when she sees the divorce papers unsigned, he yells at her that he “deserves a moment of hesitation”. No you don’t motherfucker because you just told me there was no reason to hesitate. This was the beginning of my hatred for Derek if we’re being honest. And then he actually chooses Addison. So let's go through this real quick; “I sign the divorce papers and she’s on the next flight out of Seattle” “Is there any reason to hesitate?” “No”...okay “I deserve a moment of hesitation” okay so you need to mourn your marriage but you just told me that you still fully intend on signing said divorce papers AND THEN….”She’s my wife” he chooses Addison. EXCUSE ME. How did anyone like Derek ever? That is some next level manipulative fuckboy behavior and if you were living it, as many of you have, instead of watching it on tv you would hate this dude.

Okay moving on to episode 8, where Addison and Derek’s friends from New York come to them because Sav wants to chop off her breasts and cut out her uterus to avoid getting cancer. And Wiess is a big ole dick baby about it. Sav has a history of cancer in her family and she tested positive for the genetic markers of said cancers so she decided to avoid the problem altogether. Her husband, instead of being supportive of her and being grateful that he will be able to spend the rest of his life with her, decides to bitch and whine and complain. Because for some reason he thinks her sex drive and getting her pregnant is more important than her life and her sense of security. And then this fucker tries to compare Derek walking away from Addison after she cheats on him to his situation. Like excuse me my dude, your wife is making a decision about her body, so that she can spend the rest of her life with you and you're trying to compare it to her cheating on you? Gross. Absolutely abhorrent and disgusting. That episode gets me so fired up everytime.

Okay the George and Merideth situation is up next. So here’s the thing, Meredith didn’t do anything wrong. George was actually extremely predatory. He’s fully aware that she’s been having one night stands to try and numb the pain of losing Derek. He’s fully aware that she misses Derek, he’s fully aware that she’s vulnerable and that’s when he decides to make his move. And then when she starts crying, he has the audacity to be pissed at her. AND THEN everyone has the audacity to be mad at Merideth. She was sad and vulnerable and has never showed any interest in George but somehow it's her not actually wanting to sleep with him is her fucking problem? Okay.

Season 3

The origin of Bailey pissing me off. Burke admits what’s been going on with his hand to Webber and for some reason Bailey is all uptight about it. She always feels the need to get involved with things that have nothing to do with her. She’s all up in their business for no reason at all and it's super fucking irritating.

Okay it's so small in the grand scheme of things but George when he’s talking to Callie. She says “Izzie wants you” and he responds “No, Izzie is a supermodel, she’s gorgeous, she’s stacked she wouldn’t want me” And Callie is rightfully upset by that response but I am more upset by that response. Callie is gorgeous and she is sweet and kind, and loves him so much and he basically just called her ugly. What the fuck sir.

I’d also like to just throw out that Burke’s entire existence ticks me off. He constantly used surgery against Christiana. Kicking her out of the OR to punish her. And then leaving her at the altar because he suddenly realizes that he’s the problem.

Season 5

Wish You Were Here, Derek has to operate on the death row inmate and Merideth gets all empathetic towards him and I just can’t. Now let me be clear, yes there are people in real life that are or have been on death row that are falsely convicted and blah blah blah. On this specific tv show we see prisoners 3 times and every single time they were violent offenders. Murderers who occasionally couldn’t stop murdering after being convicted. So there is no room for sympathy or empathy for these “people”. To clarify further, if you take someone’s basic human rights away from them, you are no longer entitled to your own. She bugs the hell out of me in this episode.

AHHHHHH No Good At Saying Sorry, episode 21. I’m going to make this one short and sweet. This is the episode where the 5 year old girl shoots her father in order to get him to stop beating her mother and the dumbass bitch mother wants to stay with him. Domestic violence is hard, you never get into those situations knowingly and I understand that leaving is difficult and in most cases dangerous. But if you have a child and you are with a violent person, you are just as abusive to that child as the parent doing the hitting. Your trauma doesn’t matter as much as protecting that child and if you can’t do that your child needs to be taken away from you.

Season 6

Okay I actually have no problem with Derek reporting Webber for drinking and taking his job and whatever. I once again have a problem with Bailey. She pushes Derek to report Webber because she's jealous that Merideth is being allowed to do procedures. Once again in business that she doesn’t need to be in.

Season 7

Um the episode where Seattle Grace deals with the school shooting. I love that Meredith calls Derek out on him not acknowledging her trauma from the shooting but he never apologizes, he never says anything to make up for it. She was watching the man she loves bleed out on a table and she had a miscarriage. She lost her baby, and he was so wrapped up in helping Christina that he never acknowledged her loss and it just makes me really mad and it goes on the list of reasons why Derek sucks.

Season 8

Richard Webber sucks. Sorry I said what I said. We know he cheated on Adele with Ellis but what actually pisses me off is that Adele gets sick, he sticks her in a care facility and then forgets about her. Starts dating Catherine, completely stops visiting her. He’s a garbage person.

Owen cheating on Christina…I want to set him on fire.

Season 9

Bailey is getting married and all Arizona can talk about is her fucking leg and how she doesn’t feel pretty in flats. When it's not her fucking wedding day and it doesn’t matter how she looks or feels because it's not about her.

Arizona going off on Derek and Callie about not spending all their lawsuit money pisses me off every time. For lots of reasons; the first being that Arizona is the most selfish person I’ve ever had to endure on a TV show (besides Owen). But specifically surrounding the plane crash she seems to think that the only person that suffered is her. She’s the only one that was affected by the crash and it is infuriating. Her telling Derek that he didn’t lose anything makes me so irate as if he didn’t lose his best friend and his little sister in law. It's gross. First of all, trauma olympics in general are gross but because you lost a limb, and you can still do your job no problem, you're the only one who lost anything? Ugh no.

Season 10

Arizona cheats on Callie! Continuing the trend of being the most selfish bitch on the planet. She then screams at Callie that she wasn’t on the plane, she didn’t lose anything. Not like she lost her best friend who was also the father of her baby or anything. Not like she spent months doing absolutely everything for Arizona, taking care of her, being a punching bag for her actual abuse and loving her through the result of the only choice that would save her life. Arizona is a selfish cunt bitch and I truly could not hate her any more.

Season 11

Maggie….look I end up liking her or at least tolerating her but for her to just breeze into the hospital (in Cristina’s old position) and just expect Mer to love and welcome her immediately is wild. Just because you are biologically related does not mean she needs to be your sister right away.

Season 12

Callie dating Penny and then Richard hiring Penny knowing full well who she was. I would have fired him, I would have called the board together and stripped him of his resident supervisor duties. She should have been rematched with a different hospital because at the very least having a resident there that the head of general surgery doesn’t trust is dangerous and Meredith doesn’t need anymore character building experiences. Hiring Penny was cruel.

Okay Callie decides to move to New York with Penny. She takes all the appropriate steps necessary to be a good parent. Looking at schools because places have waitlists, making sure her kid would have her own room. And Arizona gets once again selfish and bitchy. Callie obviously wants her kid to go with her but it's not like she was going to kidnap her and run across the country. She made plans and arrangements because those things take time and Sophia should have her own space and place to be and school before she even goes to visit Callie. Callie did all the good things and she repeatedly tries to talk to Arizona about arrangements and plans and time splits and Arizona refuses to hear her out and I think that is ridiculous. AND then we take this whole custody battle to court and I am so sorry but after hearing both arguments there is no world in which custody gets awarded to Arizona. She hardly spends any time with her kid. This isn’t about who her real parents are, they are both her moms. But only one of her moms actually sees her on a regular basis. A point made more clear by the fact that not once but twice Sofia tells Arizona she wants to be in New York with Callie.

Season 13

Eliza Minnick her whole existence really but specifically taking over like she knows anything about surgery or how to teach it as a sports medicine doctor. She had no actual qualifications to be doing what she was doing and a kid died because of that.

Season 16

Once again Bailey is pissing me off with the whole Merideth thing. Did she commit insurance fraud? Sure but she did it to save a little girl. She fulfilled her oath as a doctor and she is very aware that the medical system is broken and she did what she could to help. But again Bailey is unnecessarily angry. I get the reporting her because it's her job but the vitriol she has towards Meredith is so so unnecessary.

And then we have people’s entire existence. First is Leah Murphy; She always bothered me, people that love bomb and get overly invested quickly need therapy. As an adult you need to learn how to regulate your own damn emotions. She was doing the most with Alex and then again with Arizona and she had the audacity to file a harassment complaint against Callie after Leah drilled all the way through a patient's leg because she couldn’t control her emotions in the OR. Callie never would have known if Leah had known how to keep her shit together. And after the OR incident any attending would have kicked her off their service. Regardless of outer hospital emotional attachment. Leah was insufferable.

And then we have April Kepner. Now honestly for most of the series she was just a little annoying but when she went to Jordan for the second time, came back and told Jackson that his grief was nothing compared to hers AND didn’t tell him she was pregnant before they signed the divorce papers I lost any goodwill I had toward her. To look at your husband and tell him he was fine after your child died because he was trying to support you is batshit insane. Jackson was 100% right in that situation, you do not just abandon your partner after something tragic happens. I don’t care if that's what you personally need to heal, for you to not even talk to your partner about it is a bad marriage. She’s a bad partner.

Now season 17 is where I stopped watching and I’m getting back into it but as much as I love this show there are so many infuriating parts. I loved Christina, Callie, Alex, Mer most of the time but they keep getting rid of all the characters I like and the only reason to keep watching is Jo.
