General Hospital: Fans are watching and waiting

Now that Steve Burton has officially confirmed he is out at General Hospital the rumors of a Trevor St. John recast have subsided. A few weeks back there were numerous articles on the Internet indicating that the former One Life to Live actor had indeed been hired on GH but now there is silence. It could be that these were only rumors but many soap fans believe otherwise. Reliable sources were alleged to have said that the actor had indeed been hired. Perhaps Trevor's first episode will not be for a while so that viewers can get used to the fact that Steve Burton is no longer on the ABC soap. Meanwhile, fans are watching and waiting for crfedible news.

General Hospital fans desire to hear some facts about the possible recast and only have the varied articles to rely on at this point. Burton has said he wants to return as Jason which indicates that a recast would be pushed aside in his favor. This is what happened when Billy Miller was hired to portray Monica's son. The storyline changed history and had Jason find out he had a twin. This is similar to what St. John went through on One Life to Live.

Roger Howarth had portrayed a Todd Manning on OLTL and later on General Hospital. Due to licensing issues regarding the name he began playing Franco Baldwin on GH. It was never explained why but Franco was murdered and now Howarth has been cast as Dr. Austin Gatlin Holt. When Howarth left One Life to Live Trevor St. John was recast as Todd. Howarth was later brought back and St. John turned out to be his twin brother Victor Lord.

St. John has not said anything regarding the rumors and once Burton confirmed his exit there were no new reports of Jason being recast, General Hospital fans are divided on the subject as some only want Steve in the role. Others would welcome St. John as a temporary replacement until Burton returns. There are also fans who say kill the character off and let it be while others say they would be OK with Saint John in the role permanently. The powers that be at General Hospital have not confirmed anything so viewers must be patient.

General Hospital speculation: Jason and Holly could return together

Emma Sams recently gave an interview where she said she was dealing with long Covid which is side effects long after the initial diagnosis. Sams said this is the reason that she has not returned to General Hospital as Holly Sutton. The rumor mill suggests that someone might have found Jason and placed him in the same building where Holly is being held prisoner and that the two could escape and return to Port Charles.

Trevor St. John may not show up in Port Charles for a while

General Hospital viewers know that it was a number of months after being hired before Cameron Mattheson showed up as Drew. If St. John is officially a part of the GH cast it's possible that he will not be seen for a while. The citizens of Port Charles will need time to grieve but hopefully of Jason has been recast he will not be away as long as Sonny was. One thing that is certain is that time will reveal all. Either Trevor St. John has been hired to portray Jason Morgan or he has not. Fans should be on the lookout for breaking news regarding this issue once the dust settles regarding the departures of Steve Burton and Ingo Rademacher.
