'General Hospital' is finally setting things up for the reveal of Nelle as Nina's daughter

The saga of Nina's daughter has been a long and winding road on ABC's General Hospital. At one point everything seemed to be indicating that Willow was the child that Madeline put up for adoption, Viewers began to suspect that Nelle might be that daughter and it was confirmed after she died. Avery found the chain with the other half of the locket that Nina wears. It was on the ground near where Nelle fell to her death. As close as Ava and Nina have become, it seems she has never seen Ms. Reeves wearing this jewelry. If she had she would have recognized it right away.

Whenever Ava is with Nina, the necklace has been put inside a drawer or is hidden by clothing but all of that is about to change. On Monday, the new Cassadine princess went to the Corinthos home to obtain her daughter's prized possession. Carly was out but Joslyn was there and she gave her baby sister's mother a piece of her mind. She upbraided Ava about the circumstances that led to Morgan's death but she did give her the necklace. When Carly returns, she will be undone. By holding on to the jewelry she was able to feel a sense of control over the secret, but that is about to end.

During Monday's General Hospital episode, Carly asked Jax if he were reconsidering telling Nina the truth but now it is out of their hands. Ava will more than likely give the necklace to Avery but it's time she sees the other locket half on Nina's neck. General Hospital spoilers had suggested she might figure out that Nelle was Nina's child and hold the secret over Carly. There is no way, however for Ava to prove that Carly knew the truth, because she herself did not recognize the jewelry. However this plays out, fans are just wanting the truth to be revealed and this storyline to end.

While Carly, Ava, Jax, and Nina are dealing with their issues, Sonny Corinthos is alive and well and staying with Nina's nurse, Phyllis. Viewers will recall that not long ago, Nina met with this same woman who was not able to give her details about her adoption. Sonny has amnesia and the nurse's husband owns a pub where Sonny saved them from an intruder. The husband is leary because he does not know Sonny's background but the wife wants him to remain with them for a while. It's not clear how all of this will fit together as the nurse insists she has no information that can help Nina.

General Hospital viewers know there is something to the events of Monday, where Carly lost possession of the necklace and Sonny is now involved with Nina's former nurse. Fans are hoping this is not a teaser and that the mystery is one step closer to being solved. In the meantime, Jax declared his love for Nina and Carly cannot yet bring herself to declare her husband deceased. Spoilers and some viewers have been suggesting that Carly might end up in bed with Jax again or even with Jason. Monday's episode seemed to indicate that things are not headed in that direction, at least not yet.

Jax has devoted himself to Nina and wants to get Joslyn on board and Carly cannot give up on her husband. If Sonny comes back anytime soon this will all resolve itself. One thing is certain and that is that Nina will view Jax as worse than Valentin when the truth is revealed. The former Cassdine heir wanted to give Nina a fake daughter to ease her mind. Jax along with Carly decided to hide facts that could have given Ms. Reeves some closure.

Everyone seems to think they have a right to decide what is best for Nina. her mother, Madeline lied that her baby died when she had really given the child up for adoption. Sasha agreed to deceive Nina by going along with Valentin's scheme and pretending to be the long lost daughter. Carly and Jax, later along with Sonny and Jason determined Nina would be better of not knowing that her daughter was the crazy Nelle Benson. Now it's possible that Ava might use the information to force Carly to back off regarding Avery.
