Maurice Bernard remains mum about when his character Sonny Corinthos will return to General Hospital. He was last seen when he fell from a bridge after Julian Jerome died. Sonny's wife Carly is taking matters into her own hands and trying to handle Cyrus Renault. She even had his mother kidnapped which is something her husband would never have done. Everyone has been looking for Sonny without any luck and on Friday the police changed the situation from a search and rescue to a recovery.

While Bernard has been away, he has allowed his hair and beard to grow out naturally and fans are loving his gray look. Christian LeBlanc who portrays Michael Baldwin on The Young and the Restless let his hair go gray and fans have dubbed him a silver fox. Maurice Bernard has been receiving positive comments from those who are enjoying his new look and wondering if he will have it when he returns to General Hospital. Viewers are are also pondering where Sonny could be all of this time and how he is caring for himself or being cared for. Spoilers have said that he will have amnesia and be trying to make his way back to his family. He is also supposed to have an encounter with his deceased father Mike Corbin.

Some fans on social media assumed the actor had contracted COVID-19 and that is why his character is MIA. Bernard quickly put those rumors to rest and assured everyone that he is healthy and not infected with the coronavirus. When soap stars and or the powers that be do not give details regarding situations the viewers often come up with their own scenario’s. Right now, any time a character is missing from a daytime drama it is common for the first thought to be that the coronavirus is the reason.

Sonny put a bullet in Julian Jerome that sent her m to his death and viewers wonder if when he returns he will be indicted on those charges. There is the feud with Cyrus and the issue of Carly kidnapping his mother. Sonny will also need to be brought up to speed regarding Laura and Martin being the half sister and brother of Renault. Jason is trying to hold down the fort while also keeping Carly in check. Sonny missed Christmas Eve when Michael allowed Lucas to spend time with Wiley and is missing precious time with his daughter Donnsss well as grandson Wiley. Maurice Bernard did not give a time frame for when his character would return but only assured fans that he was not dead.

One General Hospital viewer stated they would like to see Sonny if the show for good. Bernard replied that he had been thinking about retiring but this comment now has him wanting to sign on for another 28 years. Some viewers were concerned that Carly and Jax might get to close for comfort while Sonny is missing but last week Ajax Pussycats Carly off and she is angry with him. Josly’s dad made the mistake of suggesting that perhaps Carly’s spouse may n vet come home and she walked out on him at that point.

Hopefully it won’t be much longer before Sonny returns to Port Charles. As long as he remains missing the wild rumors will continue. It’s bern said that he would return home with his son Morgan who died in an explosion or that he would be found by ex-wife Brenda Barrett and she will return him to Port Charles. Another viewpoint is that Cyrus had him because Renault has eyes and ears everywhere. Be sure to tune in to General Hospital each weekday afternoon and be mindful thetr may be interruptions to the schedule due to another COVID shutdown.
