What's going on with Sasha?

General Hospital fans are sharing on social media that they are perplexed at what is happening to Sasha Gilmore (Sophia Mattson). She has gone from being the Face of Deception, a world-renounced fashion model, to working with Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) in the Quartermaine stables and saying she enjoys it.

Sash looks out of place in bib overhauls after seeing her in her finest attire. Now, to add insult to injury, shewill be the new Q cook. Some viewers think this is a good idea as she will be close to Cody, but others wonder what the writers are trying to do with the character.

What are the writers thinking?

It's almost as if they don't have a definite plan for her, and Mattson's followers hope she is not being written out of the ABC soap. It reminds me of the 1941 Disney cartoon Dumbo where the older elephants say of the little pacaderm with the big ears: "They've gone and made him a clown."

The GH writers seem to be clowning around with Sasha tryign to figure out where she will best fit. In a few short years she has been a con artist, fashion model, wife, widow, grieving mom, drug addict, victim of circumstance and a mental health patient.

Sasha and Brando, Gladys and Cyrus

Sasha was brought to Port Charles by Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) to pretend to be Nina Reeves's (Cynthia Watros) long-lost daughter. She and Nina worked their way through the issue and even became friends. Sasha fell in love with and married Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) and became pregnant with his baby.

Both Brando and their son Liam died, and fans thought this was a cruel storyline. Sasha got involved with Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober), became addicted to drugs, and ended up hospitalize. Her mother-in-law Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs was gaslighting her and taking her money, so she has been through a lot.

Sasha needs stability

The one thing Ms. Gilmore has not experienced while in Port Charles is stability. General Hospital viewers have been waiting for a romance to blossom between Sasha and Cody, but they have only remained friends so far and she still seems to be on the outside looking in on the movers and shakers in town.

The Gh writers took their time with Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) and Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chaves) and now it appears their romance is over before it ever really began. Chaves is reportedly not returning to General Hospital so fans wonder if the character will remain dead, or be recast.

Working for the Q's will be challenging

Sasha deserves to be in a committed long-term relationship but is Cody the one. She knows his secret that he is really the son of Mac Scorpio (John J York) but this cannot be dealt with until York returns to the soap from treatment for cancer.

York will do a joint Zoom meeting with Kristina Wagoner (Felicia Scorpio) in July, but has not said when he can return to taping GH episodes. Once he is back and it's found out that Sasha knew the secret both she and Cody could become outcasts in Port Charles.

There will definately be a lot of disappointment but in the meantime many fans say Sasha as a cook at the Quartermaine mansion seems prepostersuo as others believe she will do well. Working for the Q's will definately be challenging but is thsi the best fit for Ms. Gilmore? Stay tuned to General Hospital to find out how this new challenge for Sofia Mattson's character works out.
