There was potential for Oscar in Port Charles

Garren Lake Stitt is best known for portraying Oscar Nero Quartermaine on General Hospital from 2017 until 2018. He was only on the soap for about a year, but this character endeared himself to viewers. Oscar was the son of Kim Nero (Tamara Braun), who realized after arriving in Port Charles that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) was the navy seal who had fathered her teenager.

Drew had found out he was the twin brother of Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and the son of Alan Quartermaine (Stuart Damon). Alan's wife, Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson), adopted him as her son, as she had done for Jason. Now, he had a son he had never known and Monica also embraced her new grandson.

Oscar and Joss

Oscar was in a relationship with Joslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), and fans thought they were an adorable couple. After Oscar was proven to be Drew's son, he was given the last name Quartrmaine and welcomed into the Q family, but he was sick and would shortly die.

Fans still don't understand why his character passed away from brain cancer and say this was a disturbing and depressing storyline. GH viewers wondered why the character was brought to Port Charles only to exit in less than a year in such a distressing manner.

GH removed several popular characters

General Hospital also got rid of several other popular characters. Dev Cervi (Ashton Arbib), who fans thought might be a long-lost son of Sonny Corinthos ( Maurice Benard) died. Viewers fell in love with the character, but he passed away due to the bomb at The Floating Rib. This was the same time frame when Julian Jerome (William deVry) and Dustin Phillips (Mark Lawson) were killed off, and Emme Rylan was let go as Lulu Falconeri).

GH fans enjoyed Joss and Oscar together

Joss was with Oscar when he died, and she mourned him but moved on to lose her virginity to best friend Cameron Webber ( Will Lipton) only to cheat on him with Dex Heller (Evan Hoffer). Kim left town, and Drew was missing and presumed dead but has returned to Port Charles. He mentions his son now and then, but GH viewers fondly remember the character and the talented teen who portrayed him.
