Now that the Army of the Dead has been dealt with, the latest episode of Game of Thrones, “The Last of the Starks,” turns its attention back to warring between the living.

For want of the Iron Throne, Daenerys Targaryen has switched her focus to the “last war” against Cersei, despite having most of her military forces depleted by the Night King and his army.

However, episode four of Game of Thrones’ six-part final season—SPOILERS AHEAD—would prove to be a heartache-filled episode for the dragon queen as we see her losing even more souls whom she holds dear in the world—from another of her fire-breathing children, to yet another trusted aide (RIP Rhaegal and Missandei). Add to that, more people now know that her beau, Jon Snow is actually Aegon Targaryen, who is not only her nephew, but who also has a better claim to the Iron Throne.

As Team Targaryen's questionable war prep and strategies continue—with Team Cersei winning round one—the episode nonetheless provided viewers with what you would expect from any Game of Thrones episode—plenty of intriguing and thought-provoking conversations between key characters, of which 20 of the best quotes are as follows:

7. “I’ve some unfinished business.”“Me too.”

—The Hound and Arya respectively, reuniting once again on a road trip, this time towards King’s Landing. (Dare we hope, foreshadowing “Cleganebowl,” the fight between the Hound and the Mountain, and Arya to strike off the last name on her list, namely Cersei?)

8. “I don’t want Jon to go down there. Men in my family don’t do well in the capital.”

—Sansa to Tyrion, before she was reminded indirectly by her former husband that Jon is “not a Stark.”

9. “(Daenerys) wants to make the world a better place, I believe in her.”

—Tyrion to Sansa, the first of many times he would declare his belief in the queen he serves in the episode.

—Sansa to Tyrion, when she fails to sway Tyrion’s trust in Daenerys.

11. “I’m sure he knows how it happened, Sam.”

13. “And our child will one day rule them all.”

—Cersei to Euron Greyjoy, telling the Ironborn king that he is the father of her unborn child (when it is actually Jaime’s).

—Tyrion to Varys, on why Daenerys believed it’s her destiny to reclaim the Iron Throne.

16. “We're discussing treason.”

—Tyrion, when Varys suggested that the better ruler could be the one (read: Jon Snow) who doesn't want the throne.

17. “Cocks are important, I’m afraid.”

—Varys to Tyrion, on why Jon Snow will be more appealing to the lords of Westeros as a ruler because he is a man.

18. "You think I'm a good man? I pushed a boy out of a tower window, crippled him for life, for Cersei. I strangled my cousin with my own hands, just to get back to Cersei. I would have murdered every man, woman, and child in Riverrun, for Cersei. She's hateful, and so am I."

—Jaime to Brienne, breaking the lady knight's heart as he leaves Winterfell for Cersei in King's Landing.

19. “You’re not a monster, I know this. I know this because I’ve seen it. You’ve always loved your children, more than yourself, more than Jamie, more than anything. I beg you, if not for yourself, then for your child.”

—Tyrion to Cersei, severely underestimating his sister’s ruthlessness when he tries to get her to surrender.

20. “Dracarys.”

—Missandei, in the earshot of Daenerys and Grey Worm, before she is executed by the Mountain under Cersei's orders.
