The movie Forrest Gump was released to theaters in July of 1994. It has continued over the decades to air on cable networks on a regular basis. There are some things in the movie things that are implied but never confirmed about the woman Forrest eventually married. Jenny Curran was portrayed by Robin Wright who in 1994 won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a film. Robin's portrayal of Jenny and the way she encompassed each decade as she oved through the 1960s, 1970s, and the 1980s was amazing

1. Jennys father molested her

The first thing that is inferred regarding Jenny is the relationship with her father. Forrest mentions how much Jenny's dad loved his daughters and touched them a lot. He also stated that Jenny's mother was dead. This seems to imply sexual molestation and that possibly this man used his daughters as replacements for his deceased wife. He was also probably verbally as well as physically abusive. This would explain why Jenny made the bad choices that she did which ultimately led to her death. lt would also make sense as to why she threw rocks at her childhood home and wanted it destroyed.

2. Where are Jenny's siblings?

She shouted. "How dare you, How could you", at the decaying house which seems to confirm she was deeply hurt inside that home. If she was being beaten, molested and or raped, she would desire to rid herself of the house in which the assault took place. This is possibly why Jenny clung to Forrest from childhood. She felt she was safe with him and could trust him not to hurt her.

After her father was arrested, Jenny went to live with her grandmother. Nothing was ever mentioned about the fate of Jenny's siblings. They may have been sent to live with other relatives or even put in foster care. Perhaps the grandma had them all and the other siblings were just not shown or maybe the grandmother could only handle one chil

3. Problems at Grandma's house

What is known is that Jenny sneaks out of her grandma's house at night and goes to the Gump home where she climbs through Forrest's window and sleeps in his bed. This implies that something was terribly wrong at grandma's house. Some fans of the film have suggested Jenny might have been afraid that her father would return and hurt her again, There also may have been an abusive uncle living at grandma's house who bothered her at night. Whatever the reason, something frightened the girl and Jenny did not want to sleep there

Jenny went on to find herself in several abusive relationships with men where she ended up with black eyes. She drank alcohol and snorted coke. She died from aids which could have been from sexual promiscuity or possibly sharing drug needles. Jenny did a lot of hitchhiking and it's probable that she may have been sexually assaulted somewhere along the line or even worked as a prostitute. At one point she was suicidal and almost jumped from a window ledge. When Forrest first asked her to marry him, she told him he would not want to marry her and said several times she was messed up.

4. Why did Jennt reject Forrest?

Another issue is the fact that Jenny kept little Forrest away from his dad until she found out she was sick. She knew Forrest loved her and wanted to marry her. She knew he was able to provide for both her and their son so why was she working as a waitress? Why did she not want the love and support that she knew Forrest would give her and for her son to know his dad ?

Some fans say the implied message is that she was not certain how Forrest would react to being a father. After she first tells him the little boy is his, she quickly adds that he did not do anything wrong. She also obviously believed his level of comprehension would cause him to not handle the situation well. Once she was told she was dying, Jenny had no choice but to allow her son's father into his life.

5. Jenny finally finds a home

Another implied message in the film is that Jenny indeed finally got her life together and wanted to give Forrest what he wanted before she died so she married him. Once they wed, she does not run away anymore because she is finbally home. This may have been due to the fact that her health was failing but she obviously was not using drugs for the first three years after giving birth to Little Forrest or for however long she was married to his dad before she died.

You could infer from the movie that Jenny fell in love with Forrest while she was a child, just as he did with her. The problem was she did not love herself or believe she was worthy of real love until it was too late. The duo never discusses any of this so itleft up to the discernment of the viewing audience.

Jenny's father set her up for a failed life and she walked right into it. This was validated by the way she continued to gravitate towards danger as well as dangerous men who did not respect her. Jenny destroyed her childhood home, but could not rid herself of the horrible memories that took place within the walls. When she was finally able to come to terms with herself and was ready to settle down with Forrest she did not have enough time to enjoy it.
