Review, the series that follows Forest McNeill (Andy Daly) as he reviews all the things no one should review, returned last night for its third and final season. News of the series being cancelled is unfortunate but at least we'll get one more season of Forest McNeill's hilarious reviews

Forest Starts Off the Season With a Review of a Six-Month Old Burrito

The episode began with Forest reviewing a topic as usual. His first review is on a burrito from a local restaurant. Unfortunately for Forest, the restaurant chain closed down so he was left without a burrito to review, but that didn't stop him. Forest then took to the internet and found a local man who'd stored one of the sought after burritos for six months. Forest gladly paid the man for his burrito and took it home to review. Everything seemed to be going well until Forest realized there was something wrong with the burrito.

Forest realized the burrito had spoiled over time but in signature Forest McNeill fashion, he struggled through the moldy burrito and scarfed it all down. The Review then ends just as you'd expect, Forest hunkered over a toilet, trying to get rid of the tainted burrito in his stomach but it actually doesn't end there. The review actually ends the following day when Forest disposes of the tainted meat.

The following day, when Forest arrives for his court hearing, he realizes the burrito still hasn't been digested and it's at that point, Forest gets rid of the burrito. It's not a pleasant sight either. Forest begins spewing the burrito out of his mouth and even worse, pours down his pants. No, that's not a typo, it poured down his pants - quite a visual depiction for extreme diarrhea on television.

To sum it up, Forest learns from his review of eating a tainted burrito that you should probably never eat/ review something so volatile before you make an appearance in court.

Forest's review of eating a tainted burrito was only the first of three segments in last night's Season 3 premiere. Forest also reviews "euthanizing a pet" and "making a dream come true". Yes, you read correctly, Forest reviewed euthanizing a pet. He reviews everything no one should review and euthanizing a pet was just one of those things.

Forest Reviews "Euthanizing a Pet"

In his review of euthanizing a pet, the onset didn't go as planned. Forest initially intended to euthanize the dog he'd adopted with his ex-wife but that didn't work out. He then resorted to the sleaziest way to euthanize an animal, which depicted him sitting in a veterinarian's office, offering to euthanize people's pets as they sat waiting to see the vet. That kind of encounter would probably make anyone turn away but since Forest McNeill is who he is, he found the one person careless enough to give him a pet.

Forest then took the gifted pet home with him and furiously talked of ending its life. But before Forest knew it, he'd grown attached to the animal and couldn't bear to part with it. So, Forest thought of a way to both keep his new friend and complete the review of "euthanizing a pet". What Forest didn't realize is that the kind of animal he'd befriended, bearded lizards are cannibals that sometimes eat each other but Forest continued with his plan anyway.

Upon bringing home the sacrificial lizard, Forest leaves it with the other lizard he's grown fond of. When he returns, Forest thinks one has gone missing but it turns out the lizard he brought home to sacrifice for the review actually ate the lizard he'd befriended. Still stricken with grief and anger at the new lizard, Forest takes the lizard to be euthanized and completes his review.

Forest Reviews "Making a Dream Come True"

The last segment of the episode was about "making a dream come true" which didn't turn out the way you'd expect either. One would assume "making a dream come true" would be a pleasant experience but that's where you're wrong, at least when it comes to Forest McNeill.

For Forest McNeill, his dream was to reconcile with his ex-wife, which wasn't happening. In his attempt to complete the review, Forest tried everything he could to reconcile with his ex-wife but nothing seemed to work.

Being left in defeat, Forest was stricken with nightmares of being unable to complete the review because his wife wouldn't help him. And it was at that moment, when Forest realized how he could make his dream true. The next day, Forest gets a hold of all the people he sees in his dreams and has them all set up around his ex-wife's house. They're all holding scripts, acting out parts of Forest's dream. Everyone is participating except Forest's ex-wife.

When Forest approaches his ex-wife's door to ask to her to reconcile once more, she rejects him. Most people would call that a failure but not Forest McNeill, it was actually a successful review.

Since Forest began having nightmares of his wife refusing to reconcile with him, that's all he ever dreamed about. So, one day Forest realized his wife rejecting his approaches actually made his dream come true, bringing a conclusion to the review. Forest may have cheated his way through that review but at least he found a loophole to make it work.

Should Review Be Renewed?

At the moment, that's definitely a good start for Review's final season. It's unfortunate that the series is ending but there's always potential for a renewal. Even the heightened promotion for Review seems to be hinting at Comedy Central trying to push the series on audiences. If that's the case, then promotional marketing for Review may be cause for the series to be renewed for another season.
