Eric Braeden speaks about regarding Doug Davidson and Daniel Goddard

The is one daytime actor who is not afraid to express himself to his listening audience. This legend has often championed the cause of his cast mates. When Doug Davidson went MIA on The Young and the Restless, Eric Braeden was one of his top supporters. The man who portrays Victor Newman did not mince words when expressing his outrage that "Dougie" was not on screen. Over time, the man who has played Paul Williams for four decades was brought back to Genoa City, but he still is not involved in current storylines. Recently Daniel Goddard who used to portray Cane Ashby tweeted a photo that got Braden to vent his feelings yet again. The picture is of Goddard, Eric, and the late Kristoff St. John who was Neil Winters for close to three decades on the CBS daytime drama.

Eric Braden lamented that Kristoff St. John had passed away and went on to say that "Dougie" Davidson should be on Y&R more and that Daniel Goddard was a good actor and should be there as well. There is no way to know if the powers that be will pay attention to Braeden or the fans who have been complaining about Goddard and Davidson. Cane Ashby left Genoa City to find his father, but Colin is now in jail. Cane was supposed to clear his name but no one has even mentioned him since Devon's money was returned. You would think that Jill would have at least told one person that she spoke to Cane and he knows his name is clear. If that were to happen viewers might be expecting Lily's ex to come back to town.

There was never a reason was ever given for why Doug Davidson was brought back to The Young and the Restless but not utilized. There also was no mention of why Daniel Goddard's character was written off the show. Eric Braeden speaks his mind freely even when he seems to be biting the hand that feeds him. Many actors go with the flow and will not speak out because of the fear of losing their job. Victor Newman's protrayer has never shown any fear in being honest, especially when it comes to his co-stars. It seems the actor is just like his character who is brutally honest. There are also many fans who have the same questions as Braeden.

On Friday April 24, Doug Davidson did the opening monologue for the Flash Back Friday episode, which highlighted his honeymoon in 996 after he married Christine, "Cricket" Blair. Fans were elated to see the actor but this is not the same as his being in a front burner storyline. The Young and the Restless has run out of original episodes and will now be airing older classic shows. There is no scheduled date for the cast to resume taping so viewers will have to stay tuned. Let's hope the powers that be heed the words of this iconic entertainer.

Eric Braeden has also defended other actors on The Young and the Restless. When Beth Maitland,(Traci Abbott) and Lauralee Bell( Christine Williams) were attacked on social media by mean spirited fans and made cruel remarks Braeden defended them. He called them fine actresses and took their detractors to task. really stands up for his coworkers and should be commended for it. His alter ego Victor, however, seems to enjoy inflicting pain on those he loves. On The Young and the Restless, Adam was just informed by Victor that when he was 11 he killed a man to protect his mother. Adam does not believe this is true and thinks his father is plotting against him.

Whenever the programming resumes for CBS daytime, viewers will be waiting to find out what happens between the members of the Newman Family. Victor is still out for blood and both she and Nick want revenge on Adam. Vicki is scheduled to return to her job as CEO and Adam will be locking his wounds because he was kicked out. The truth will eventually come to light and spoilers say Adam will be devastated and need Chelsea to get him through the ordeal.
