Netflix recently premiered season 2 of Emily in Paris. Once again, the show attracted many viewers and a lot of criticism. Lily Collins stars as the titular character who moves to Paris from Chicago in season 1. She works for a marketing firm and is supposed to be in France temporarily to offer Savoir an American point of view. Of course, her visit ends up getting prolonged and she remains in Paris long enough for it to become her new home.

Emily meets many other Parisians as she explores the city of love, but not all of them are as kind or romantic as she had hoped. Still, she partakes in her fair share of romance, even if finding what she wants isn't as easy as she'd imagined. Emily is also the subject of criticism and disparagement from the significantly more fashionable French.

10. LIKE: Pierre Cadault

Pierre Cadault is a fashion icon of Paris, even if he is a little conservative sometimes. He may not make the best impression on Emily, but he certainly has a memorable entrance into the show.

He is first introduced as the grumpy old man who calls Emily "basic". Later, the two develop something like a friendship. He offers Emily some great advice, and she consoles him when he's feeling down - over crème brûlée, of course. His son, on the other hand, is not as likable.

9. CAN'T STAND: Doug

Doug is Emily's not-so-memorable boyfriend from Chicago. He's only in the show for a few scenes, where he's always concerned only with himself. It's unclear why Emily likes him because he seems so dull and ordinary.

When he breaks up with Emily, he is petty and immature, and it becomes clear that Emily never needed him anyway. She doesn't seem to miss him much once he's out of her life. In fact, once they've broken up, it's like Emily is finally free to immerse herself in Paris.

8. LIKE: Julien

Julien is the first person from Savoir to meet Emily, and his opinion of her is obvious within the first five seconds. He looks her up and down and gives a less than favorable appraisal of her outfit.

Later, he and Emily become friends. Mostly, he likes to make jokes at Emily's expense, but this dynamic is very enjoyable for viewers. He and Luc make a great comedic pair and are almost never seen without each other.

7. CAN'T STAND: Gabriel

Gabriel is nice enough, but he's too indecisive to be one of the most likable characters in the show. He isn't honest with Emily about a lot of things, and he can't make up his mind about what he wants in his career or his love life. He pretends to be one thing, but then it turns out he's something else entirely.

Emily is understandably frustrated with him, and he acts like he doesn't know what he's done wrong. He toys with her emotions, doesn't tell Camille what's going on, and acts like a petulant child a lot of the time. Still, he's charming, chivalrous, and has chemistry with Emily. He may need to mature a little more before deciding what he really wants.

6. LIKE: Luc

Luc is half of the iconic duo that is Julien and Luc. Like Julien, Luc also works at Savoir, but viewers don't get to see too much of him at work. He does pop in regularly to make fun of Emily, so he keeps things lighthearted.

Luc also goes to a little extra effort to get to know Emily and try to befriend her. He gives her some real advice to help her navigate the Parisian fashion scene, and of course keeps Emily - and the audience - amused.

5. CAN'T STAND: Antoine

Antoine is a sneaky businessman who owns a perfume brand. Emily wants to help him market the perfume, but he's seeing Sylvie, even though he's married. On top of that, he gifts Emily a set of lingerie.

Emily doesn't know what to do about this situation, since she hasn't done anything to ask for his attention. The whole conundrum is complicated and unprofessional, and leaves Emily in an even worse position with Sylvie.

4. LIKE: Mindy

Mindy is Emily's new best friend who also lives in Paris but is of Chinese descent. Her family is wealthy, but she doesn't want anything to do with them. She works as a nanny for wealthy Parisians, which apparently allows her to buy all of the expensive clothes she wants.

She is like Emily's mentor, telling her everything she needs to know about Paris and French culture, how to approach French people, and all the best places to see in the city. She's a guiding light, always kind, always honest, always fun. Her cultural background, budding music career, and unique family situation makes her story far more interesting than any other character's in the show, and being a genuine person and friend makes her one of the most likable.

3. CAN'T STAND: Emily

Emily may be the main character, but that doesn't mean she's the most likable. In fact, she's endlessly frustrating, not least because of her questionable fashion choices, and far too oblivious to be taken seriously.

She thinks that she knows better than anyone else, even though she's not as experienced as some of her co-workers and comes from a totally different background. She also probably should have at least tried to learn the French language before trying to work there. As a friend and romantic partner, Emily isn't always the best, either. Still, she's entertaining and easy to relate to.

2. LIKE: Camille

Camille is a free spirit with a great sense of style and a huge heart. She's kind, welcoming, confident, and proud of who she is. She's also Gabriel's girlfriend, something Emily finds out a little too late, but Camille is the only one of the trio who hasn't done anything wrong.

In fact, she's being far too nice to either of them and is easily the kindest and most honest of the three. Camille helps Emily find her feet in Paris with real actions, not just words, which is rare. She also doesn't expect anything in return.

1. CAN'T STAND: Sylvie

Sylvie has to be the most immature character of the series, even though she's supposed to be the opposite. She doesn't behave like a leader or a grown woman and constantly looks for petty ways to undermine Emily and even encourage her to leave France.

She does have some good points about Emily's lack of culture and sophistication, but that doesn't mean she should dismiss her opinions entirely. She's just plain mean, petty, and immature. Simply put, she doesn't have the characteristics of a leader or a role model. However, in season 2, her character softens towards Emily and she becomes more likable for this alone.
