Days of Our Lives Thursday recap: The devil causes more damage

Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) has been running amuck in Salem on Days of Our Lives since being possessed by an evil spirit. She made sure Doug Williams (Bill AHayes) is locked away and cannot tell anyone that the devil has returned. She got hsi wife Julie Williams (Susan Seathford Hayes) to sign away her rights and give Dr. Evans complete authority over Doug. She levitated, locked John Black ( Drake Hogestyn) in the DiMera crypt where she tortures him and turned Susan Banks ( Stacy Haiduk) into a cat and now she is locked up with John.

Days of Our Lives recap: Marlena's pias de resistance thus far

Marlena, while under control of evil has given bad advice to many Salem residents but her pias de resistance at this point is what took place at the wedding ceremony for Abe Carver (James Reynolds) and Paulina Price (Jackee Harry). Paulina confided to Marlena under doctor-patient confidentiality that she was the mother of Lani Price (Sal Sowers) and not her aunt. Dr. Evans, in turn, shared the information with Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) who broke the news just prior to Abe and Paulina saying "I do."

After Chanel told Lani they were sisters, Paulina denied it was true until her mom Olivia Price (Marla Gibbs) stood up and admitted that it was true and that the family felt it was the best decision at the time. Marlena turned her head to the side and smiled her devilish grin as she inspected her handy work. Abe and Lani each walked out of the church and Paulina went running behind them.

Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson) jumped on Lani and said she ruined his dad's wedding day. Marlena smiled a wicked grin as she saw them argue. Chanel decided that she and her "Big Mama" should leave and as Olivia walked past Marlena she gave her a strange look as if she could sense the evil. Dr. Evans smiled again and said that her work for that day was done.

Days of Our Lives projections: The Carver and Price families have much damage that needs repairing

Paulina tried to explain to Abe that she was hiding Lani from her abusive bio dad. Abe left and went to the Brady Pub where he said he needed a friend and Roman Brady ( Josh Taylor) gave him a big hug after telling him he came to the right place. Theo went looking for Lani to tell her she is still his sister but Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) said she had gone to get answers from her mother. Olivia later asked Chanel if the "headshrinker had told her to interrupt the wedding and Chanel asked her grandmother why she said that. Olivia said she had been around long enough to know when the devil was on someone's tongue.

Olivia might be headed towards making herself a target if she confronts Marlena and the devil might do her harm. In the meantime, Chanel is questioning her own motives on why she revealed the secret when she did. Paulina, Abe, Lani, Eli, and Theo are all upset and wondering what comes next. These families are being torn apart because of Marlena. After causing Chaos in the church the devil doc went to the DiMera crypt where she arrived in time to stop Susan from escaping. Days of Our Lives fans should brace themselves because things are going to get worse before they get better.
