"Show Time, A-Holes" - A Review of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is not a perfect movie. That doesn’t stop it from being one of Marvel’s best. In fact, I believe it to be overall superior to the first film. This is largely due to the fact that almost nothing feels wasted here. Everyone is given something to do, everyone has an arc (even bit characters), and their payoff affects both them and the plot at large. I think at some point writing the script (or perhaps from the beginning), James Gunn realized that doing a sequel is about more than just throwing a bunch of shit on the screen that people recognize. Sure, Howard the Duck is in it, but I think fans have become accustomed to the level of fan service present in these more recent entries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that they’re catching on to the fact that dangling a big shiny object in front of our faces and expecting us to jump just doesn’t cut it anymore. I think the fact that Vol. 2 doesn’t try to retread the things in the first movie that made it work, or duplicate the tone or structure of it, which may be disappointing to some people. When people first saw The Empire Strikes Back, a lot of them thought it was considerably darker and more tense than Star Wars was, and it’s depressing cliffhanger left a lot of them dissatisfied. Years later many regard it to be the best film in the saga.

Marvel Prepares to Showcase Its "Legacy"
The House of Ideas is about to celebrate its legacy. Multiple comic book media outlets such as Bleeding Cool, Comic Book Resources, and Newsarama have reported that the Marvel Universe is going to bring back several characters and storylines in its upcoming companywide storyline: Marvel Legacy.

Spider-Man: Younger Does Not Mean Better.
So currently, I've been reading articles and reviews and comments about the newest addition to the Spider-Man franchise and I have been more than slightly irritated about them. Since his appearance in Civil War, he has been dubbed "the best and absolute perfect casting for Spider-Man," before his solo movie has even been released and even if it is true, it isn't fair to state things like that as a matter of fact, because the truth of the matter is, he's a third try at a franchise that has never really failed in their first movie.

Spotlight on: Silk - The Life and Times of Cindy Moon
To my utter dismay, it was announced last month that Marvel has canceled the Silk ongoing series. While the series is admittedly, not as popular as the likes of Spider-Gwen, Deadpool, or even Squirrel Girl, it contains a truly compelling story, and a highly relatable lead, in the form of Cindy Moon, aka, Silk!

'The Avengers: Infinity Wars' Superheroes Getting Their Own Movies
As the superhero team of Avengers is growing at a fast pace since the year 2008 with the introduction to Iron Man, the Marvel Cinematic Universe also becomes larger. The Avengers: Civil War is set to have one of the most star-studded casts that a superhero movie has come to see, ever. Everyone knows that the original Avengers consists of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and the Hulk, but as we are introduced to more superheroes and other assets to the Avengers team, we are introduced to more opportunities for movies.

X-Men Days of Future Past Review
The history of the X-Men movies has been very turbulent since the first film, X-Men, came out in 2000. The first film was toted as a superhero movie group film finally done right. Hell, back in 2000 superhero movies were mostly considered jokes. You had the classics, the first two Batman movies and the first two Superman films but those had been made throughout the 70s through early 90s. After Batman and Robin came out, the superhero genre was pretty much considered dead. At the time we didn't have any Spider-Man or Avengers films, the closest Marvel had gotten to making good superhero films were the Blade films, which while good, are more ultra-violent action/horror flicks than traditional superhero films. Marvel had tried a couple times before to make movies based on their characters but movies like The Fantastic Four (1994) and Captain America (1990) were pretty awful and didn't do much at the box office.

Nightmare: Dr. Strange's First Enemy in the Shadow of Sandman
Nightmare, the likely villain of the Dr. Strange movie sequel, proves that Doc has one of the greatest rogues galleries in comics. I would describe Nightmare to any DC fan as the Joker with the power of Morpheus from Sandman though Nightmare's depiction over the years has been even more jarringly inconsistent than Joker's: at times Nightmare has been essentially the most powerful villain in the Marvel Universe (when he incapacitated Eternity, the embodiment of existence, during a classic Roy Thomas story), but at other times Hulk can beat him to death for some reason. In the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon, Spider-Man beats Nightmare by simply not being afraid of him. When I saw that episode, I imagined a thickly sarcastic Benedict Cumberbatch saying, "If only the embodiment of all of existence had realized he could simply not be afraid. If only he had a teenage spider bite victim to teach him how to so simply beat a fellow god."

Scariest Marvel Villains
The Marvel Universe was created in the 1960's by Stan Lee alongside Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko. The world of Marvel revolves around the supernatural, and characters who have special powers. In the Marvel comics, there are tons of heroes and villains, and because of this, the developers have had to get creative with the characters' backstories. The violent and eerie nature of the following villains is what caused them to make it on this list. Some of these characters are so messed up they'll keep you awake at night. Caution: may contain spoilers.
