A spoiler warning is in effect! If you like this, you can get more of my articles when you subscribe to my account.

There are four episodes in the first part and we await the second part to be released on June 13th. In the first episode so much happens.

Colin returns from his adventure with a different look, Kanthony (Kate and Anthony)is present and strong, Francesa is indifferent but anxious about making her debut, Queen Charlotte is unbelievably bored, Eloise changes friends, appearance and opinions, and Penelope changes appearance and opinions.

The Bridgerton house prepares for Francesa's (Hannah Dodd) debut with the help of everyone before they reunite with Colin (Luke Newton) on their way. The Featheringtons also return in time from the countryside with Prudence (Bessie Carter) who married Harry Dankworth (James Phoon). Lady Violet (Ruth Gemmell) tries to guide Francesa but her efforts seem unnecessary as Francesa wants things to swiftly carry on and pass. Despite Brimley's (Hugh Sachs) encouragement to acknowledge Francesa since they have worked with Bridgertons, Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) is so unimpressed by everyone she doesn't choose a diamond and irks the mothers.

Eloise (Claudia Jessie) and Francesa are both out this season in hopes of finding a husband. Eloise and Cressida (Jessica Madsen) are friends much to Penelope's dismay and Violet's confusion but she valued the kindness Cressida showed her that summer Penelope was not present. Violet shares her worries about Eloise's change and Francesa's debut with Kate (Simone Ashley) who consoles her. She encourages her saying she cherishes their relationship. She and Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) returned from their honeymoon to continue their duties as Viscount and Viscountess. However, with Violet still in the home and everything going on, they agree to extend their honeymoon to relax while making an heir.

Will Mondrich(Martins Imhangbe) is a friend of Simon's(Regé-Jean Page), a former boxer, a father, a husband to Alice (Emma Naomi), and an owner of a club. Alice gets a notice of inheritance from her late aunt for her son. Being the only relative with a son, Nicholas (James Bryan) becomes the new Baron of Kent. This news from Walter Dundas (Edward Bennett) heightens their spirits as they step into a world of wealth.

However, Lady Portia Featherington(Polly Walker) gets news that they would be thrown out of their home if the will to inherit the home if they have an heir is found to be fake. Overwhelmed by Colin's attention to others, Eloise's abandonment, her sisters potentially being the next Lady Featherington and her mother's hope that she would always be taken care of by her, Penelope makes a decision. She decides she needs a change and that change could come about through getting a husband. Pen and Madame Delacroix (Kathryn Drysdale) have a camaraderie as fellow entrepreneurs but I was glad she was still present especially when Penelope needed the familiarity. She helped change her wardrobe to eliminate all her clothes of a "citrus colour". Penelope's first dress after the makeover was worn at Lady Danbury's (Adjoa Andoh) ball where she learnt both she and Francesa are wallflowers trying to take chances.

After being best friends for years, Eloise and Penelope fall out after Eloise discovers she is Lady Whistledown(Julie Andrews) known as the gossip by many. Eloise wants to hate her because she doesn't want to forgive her but she still cares for her regardless of her attempt at making new friends among other changes. Colin recognizes this change after she expresses her reading preferences have changed but he feels this change is fake. She redirects his opinion of her being fake to question his change to become someone more "interesting" as recognized by the other men.

Cressida admitted it was hard to find a husband but harder to find a friend when confronted by Eloise. Despite her opinion of being placed against each other by society, she is still cruel to Penelope. Penelope's dress was torn by Cressida who stepped on the back as she discussed with Lord Debling (Sam Phillips). While waiting for a carriage to head home, Colin joins her. She admits to him that she overheard his moment of belittling her saying he would never have interest in her. The next day, she is visited by Colin who apologizes, tells her of her effect on him and more before they agree to work together to find her a husband. After their conflict resolution, Penelope panics as she realizes she wrote awfully about Colin the night before but it's too late to stop it. This is not the first time Colin has been written about in Lady Whistledown and his hatred for her only worsens as Eloise informs him of her opinion on Colin's personality being fake. The Queen is also called out for not choosing a diamond despite Lady Danbury's encouragement.

In the second episode, Colin and Penelope carry on with the plan to find her a husband after she tells him to disregard Lady Whistledown's remarks. Colin encourages her to talk to several men in hopes of finding suitors. She admits to Colin that she is aware of her qualities but they don't come across in discussions as she worries about possible outcomes. He helps her practice with a scenario in the Bridgerton home which allows Pen to compliment him. She hides her as Eloise returns home and she finds his writing about his adventurous exploits. A knocked candle and broken glass allow them to share a moment before she compliments his writing and then leaves.

With the help of Lady Featherington, the Featherington girls properly understand and act to improve their performance for an heir. After Eloise sees Penelope leaving their home despite their efforts, she questions Colin. Colin is still unaware of what led to their break-up so he asks if it's fine to still be friends with Pen and Eloise encourages it. She fears Pen may be lonely in her absence saying Colin may be the only other friend she had while hoping Penelope did not see him as a suitor. Colin confided in her about their plan after she asked how Pen was doing. Eloise comments on their plan believing Pen changed as she wanted to wed.

Despite Colin speaking to Eloise in confidence about their plan, she informs Cressida but it was overheard and spread at the ball. This affected Penelope's brief moment of happiness. She was happiest and most comfortable when discussing her work as Lady Whistledown. However, Colin was not happy when she got along with someone else before she ran away from being ridiculed. She wrote about it as Lady Whistledown and some people were affected by this. Eloise blamed Cressida who let her know she was not being very discreet when telling her. She tells her she didn't share it and wants Eloise to reflect on herself instead. I was surprised Cressida didn't tell. Good for her for wanting true friendship I guess and she wasn't wrong about Eloise. Penelope's mother calls her overly ambitious for trying to seek marriage in her third year out and says an unmarried life is not bad because men can be trouble.

Colin came to see how she was doing as she wrote she may return to the shadows after having hope in Lady Whistledown. She becomes reckless and asks him to kiss her. She begs him especially since she's never been kissed and after several moments, they kiss. She thanks him and leaves. Regardless of her silent pleas against it, Lady Danbury succeeds in showing Francesa to the Queen and she is picked to be the new Diamond.

In the third episode, Colin is tormented by their kiss and mentally navigating their relationship while Penelope is fully dedicated to creating more with Lord Debling. Lord Debling showed more interest in Pen as both were ostracized. He was ostracized for caring about animals and being a vegetarian. The pressure Cressida has from her family is evident and her lack of connection with them is shared with Lord Debling. She and Penelope compete for his attention amid Eloise.

The Mondriches actively work on their decision to do whatever they want after adjusting to the rules of the home. Violet has a possible suitor in Lady Danbury's brother, Lord Anderson (Daniel Francis) but Lady Danbury does not seem to support their potential relationship. Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) gets an interest in Lady Tilly Arnold (Hannah New) while Francesa gets an interest in someone she could share the silence with. Her match with Lord Samadani (David Mumeni) by the Queen started well but he embraces chatter and she does not.

Will's decision for them to do whatever they want is disturbed when he is told that he cannot operate his club if he wants to be a member of high society. Colin is struggling to accept his feelings, the distance between them and more. At the ball, she looks at him and Lord Debling after Cressida wins to get to Lord Debling before her. However, Colin continues talking to the ladies not leaving them for Pen and she catches up to Lord Debling when unaccompanied by Cressida. She confesses that she was pretending about her appreciation for nature and talks about herself admitting who she is. He tells her he wants to court someone who embraces their difference as he does and he believes she does too.

He had left Cressida's side to get her lemonade but after talking to Penelope, he gives her the lemonade instead. Despite Eloise's attempt at consoling her, I kind of feel bad for Cressida while Colin stares at Penelope. Colin talks to his mother about friendship turning into a relationship and she ends up telling him how she and their father navigated that. She said she knew their friendship could turn into more because he was courageous enough to ask. He seemingly decides to talk to Penelope as well but doesn't due to fear and Lord Debling's interruption to dance with her. Colin and Cressida are miserable.

In the fourth episode, Penelope makes even more progress with Lord Debling until it is rendered useless by her feelings for Colin while Colin finally accepts his feelings for her and makes it known to her. The Featheringtons are dreadful saying she had to have done something for Lord Debling to be interested in her or for her to have proximity to Colin.

Violet is so wonderful trying to help her children. Benedict begins courting and more with Lady Arnold. Lady Danbury is unhappy with her brother's presence and questions why he's here. The Queen is happy to be praised by Lady Whistledown and is hopeful about her match with Francesa and Lord Samadani but Lord Stirling (Victor Alli), who she shared the silence with calls on her. I was so happy he looked for her and visited her, quite swiftly too. Her mother is shocked about him and their meeting (so are her siblings) but they are supportive. Previously, Violet had told Francesa that it is fine if who she loves is not who the Queen chooses for her similar to Daphne choosing who was not chosen by the Queen.

Will and Alice argue about keeping the club they worked so hard for or leaving it to accept what they have now. Cressida was forbidden from continuing her friendship with Eloise after she appreciated her visit to her home but they carried on regardless. Francesa is torn and so is Penelope as they navigate both options for themselves. Colin is still sulking but he realizes he is making pointless efforts with his new way of life. Violet tells him that Penelope will be getting engaged that night. She tells him that he's too accommodating and people-pleasing but he should try to be selfish. Marcus and Violet discuss about Lady Danbury and their dead lovers.

Lady Danbury tells Alice that what they have been told is true. She agrees that the Queen would not support a man of rank working at a club. She encourages her to convince him that this new life is worth leaving the old one. Marcus asks his sister to make him a new target for matchmaking but she says she doesn't want to support his rakish ways despite his claim of it all being pure. Lady Danbury suggests the Queen and Lady Whistledown could ally after agreeing about Francesa's match. However, the Queen is upset as Francesa leaves with her mother after getting the adjusted sheet music from Lord Stirling. After all, she didn't drink the lemonade from Lord Samadani.

The Featherington ladies celebrate their pregnancy. Lady Featherington troubles Penelope about her fallen relationship after Lord Debling rejects her for her feelings for Colin. He was tipped off by Cressida who said they were neighbours and had affection. This information made him realize her true reason for always sitting by the window. She is upset and frustrated as she never even got the proposal so she heads home in a carriage which leads to the ever-popular carriage scene from the book. Colin follows her, confesses to her and she accepts it as they get intimate before getting to his house. As he gets out, he asks if she's coming and asks if she will marry him. Afterwards, we get a trailer for the second part of the season coming out on June 13th which will focus primarily on her identity as Lady Whistledown.
