Living in the 21st, we have so many options and choices on anything and everything it seems like. Truthfully the thought of it can be overwhelming at times. Everything from the countless hours of Netflix we can binge to multiple ways to order your coffee at Starbucks.

With the millions of people who plan to travel this holiday season, despite the recommendations of the CDC, one form of entertainment people use to pass the time is reading a good book. Now hear me out, I am definitely a sucker for a good wholesome hardback book. I will purposely bring at least two with me when I travel on the plane. One for on the way there, and one for on the way back. However due to people being more germ conscious now, I actually recommend you bring a kindle versus that hard back book this holiday season.

Kindles typically are easier to sanitize and are able to hold hundreds of books on them! Not to mention its more compact and easier to stow away when the time comes. Or even better you can download the Kindle app to your phone! So it's one less device to have to take with you and even less chords to charge things. The Kindle app is completely free, and there are even free books you can download on their site as well. Plus not to mention, you have a less likely chance loosing your phone on the way to your final destination than your beloved novel you just purchased for $17.99.

Today I would like to highlight my top 10 Kindle reads of 2020 in the hopes of narrowing down your search on that next thriller!

#1 The Hollow Gods (The Chaos Cycle) by: A.J. Vrana

I just finIished this not too long ago and gave it 4 stars. It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. It was suspenseful and had an amazing character build up!

A perfect story for contemporary fantasy readers who love their narratives razor-sharp and their secrets dark and deadly. Black Hollow is a town with a dark secret. For centuries, residents have foretold the return of the Dreamwalker—an ominous figure from local folklore said to lure young women into the woods and possess them. Yet the boundary between fact and fable is blurred by a troubling statistic: occasionally, women do go missing. And after they return, they almost always end up dead. When Kai wakes up next to the lifeless body of a recently missing girl, his memory blank, he struggles to clear his already threadbare conscience. Miya, a floundering university student, experiences signs that she may be the Dreamwalker’s next victim. Can she trust Kai as their paths collide, or does he herald her demise? And after losing a young patient, crestfallen oncologist, Mason, embarks on a quest to debunk the town’s superstitions, only to find his sanity tested.A maelstrom of ancient grudges, forgotten traumas, and deadly secrets loom in the foggy forests of Black Hollow. Can three unlikely heroes put aside their fears and unite to confront a centuries-old evil? Will they uncover the truth behind the fable, or will the cycle repeat?

#2 Project Renaissance Man by: Peter A. Schoemann

Recently Peter just came out with the final book in this series cowritten with his kids! This book was recently featured by Ashley Eckstein who played Ashoka Tano on Star Wars the Clone Wars on her instagram. I have not finished reading this one yet, but it so far has been very interesting and would be an awesome pick for any Sci-Fi lovers out there!

Faithful to all. Focused on duty. Fearful of expectations. The catastrophic Storm of 2020 wiped out seven billion lives in one horrible, fateful day. Among the mere hundreds remaining, 17-year old Matthew Cane lives a privileged life. His friends support him. His beautiful, caring girlfriend would do anything for him. And his brilliant father is the president of the new United States, giving him access and power. Yet beneath Matt’s confident exterior, fear consumes him—fear of following in his father’s footsteps, fear of being unable to please others, and fear of everyone learning his secret. He is no genius, unlike his father, his revered grandfather--one of the brightest people who ever lived and the founder of Project RM--and the other 43 Renaissance men and women (known as RMs) in their little community. But when Matt’s late mother speaks to him in a dream, he begins to suspect all is not what it seems. He and a group of trusted friends start to look under the perfect surface of their world, and what they find will change everything. To save humankind, he and his friends must subvert their elders, risk their lives, and complete his mother’s mission.

#3 The Hollow 47 by: Amanda Aggie

I absolutely rated this one 5 stars. This one constantly had me questioning the next moves of the characters all the time and left me in total suspense. I also loved that it is based here in Missouri, so I pictured the story in my head as more relatable compared to other books.

This fascinating psychological thriller will have you yearning for more! The Hollow 47 is a riveting new tale that circulates around the small-town of Salem, Missouri and the residents that live there. It has been raved about by advanced readers and is sure to bring a little spooky to your reading ritual this fall!In a town where secrets prove to have deadly consequences, those who enter the hollow… don't come out.

In Salem, Missouri, every resident knows the town history and the ghost stories that are based on it. The most famous of them being about the forty-seven settlers who tried to start an 'off-the-grid' community in the woods, known as 'The Salem Hollow.' At least, that was until they all turned up dead. Poison: That is what the medical examiner called the cause of their sudden and tragic passing. Newspapers declared their death as a mass suicide based on a religious faction, but whispers swarmed the small town, and conspiracies were born. Now, the story of how 'The Hollow 47' haunt the woods of the south-side are told around every campfire. Maggie Porter lives with her father, the town sheriff, and celebrates what is supposed to be an epic senior year with her best friend, Nancy. However, gang violence and high school drama become the least of their worries when members of the town, including her father, start getting threatening notes written in blood, and the person writing them is dead set on getting revenge.

Pandora's box is opened, and lies that were told forty years ago begin to unravel. Not even the dead can keep chaos from unfolding around them. When secrets from her father's past come knocking, those that were buried six-feet deep in 'The Salem Hollow' can no longer keep them safe from the man under the mask.

#4 Best Self, Be You Only Better by: Life Coach Mike Bayer

Now I must admit I have been a fan of Dr. Phil for years now, and I had been seeing him push their in house life coach's book. I was a bit hesitant solely because I have been trying to support smaller authors over the last year. However, this book is genuinely amazing. They definitely got a good publisher and they knocked this one out of the park. This is working on life skills and how to move forward in your life, from a place where you may feel stuck. This is an easy 5 star read for me and I would pass this on easily to anyone who felt like they needed a life coach.

#5 Unravel The Dusk by: Elizabeth Lim

This book is currently on my TBR but I am actually recommending this based off the first book in the series Spin The Dawn. This series comes off as a very badass retelling of Mulan meshed in with the TV show Project Runway. This series had a good balance of action, romance, and adventure and was one of my favorite reads in 2019. So I can't wait to sit down and finally read this one.

Maia Tamarin proved her skill as a tailor when she wove the dresses of the sun, the moon, and the stars, but it will take more than a beautiful gown to hide the darkness rising up within her.Maia Tamarin's journey to sew the dresses of the sun, the moon, and the stars has taken a grievous toll. She returns to a kingdom on the brink of war. Edan, the boy she loves, is gone--perhaps forever--and no sooner does she set foot in the Autumn Palace than she is forced to don the dress of the sun and assume the place of the emperor's bride-to-be to keep the peace.

When the emperor's rivals learn of her deception, there is hell to pay, but the war raging around Maia is nothing compared to the battle within. Ever since she was touched by the demon Bandur, she has been changing . . . glancing in the mirror to see her own eyes glowing red; losing control of her magic, her body, her mind. It's only a matter of time before Maia loses herself completely, and in the meantime she will stop at nothing to find Edan, protect her family, and bring lasting peace to her country. The stakes are higher than ever in this breathtaking sequel to Spin the Dawn.

#6 Midnight Sun by: Stephenie Meyer

Calling all my team Jacob Fans where are you? Truthfully we all know that is who she should've chose in the end. Just saying. Anyway I was really excited when I found out that she had wrote another book in the series! I was floored because my inner emo kid had found its way out of the black hole it had been pushed into since 2009, and I immediately preordered this as quickly as I could. No lie, you better have some snacks ready because this book is LONG. Several of my friends are begging me to do a review of this for my blog, and don't worry my individual thoughts are coming. However it's written from the perspective of the other characters in the Twilight world and I must say I am enjoying it as of now.

#1 bestselling author Stephenie Meyer makes a triumphant return to the world of Twilight with this highly anticipated companion: the iconic love story of Bella and Edward told from the vampire's point of view. When Edward Cullen and Bella Swan met in Twilight, an iconic love story was born. But until now, fans have heard only Bella's side of the story. At last, readers can experience Edward's version in the long-awaited companion novel, Midnight Sun.This unforgettable tale as told through Edward's eyes takes on a new and decidedly dark twist. Meeting Bella is both the most unnerving and intriguing event he has experienced in all his years as a vampire. As we learn more fascinating details about Edward's past and the complexity of his inner thoughts, we understand why this is the defining struggle of his life. How can he justify following his heart if it means leading Bella into danger? In Midnight Sun, Stephenie Meyer transports us back to a world that has captivated millions of readers and brings us an epic novel about the profound pleasures and devastating consequences of immortal love.

#7 The Diseased Ones by: Danielle Harrington

If you are looking for another good fast paced and more futuristic, I recommend this one. It's an easy read, and I found my self wanting more! The author is on track to release the next book in this series. And I honestly am curious to see where this heads. Btw this author is on TikTok and is seriously funny if you are interested in booktok content.

Life is easy in 2647, unless you're a Diseased One... On the morning of her 16th birthday, Hollis Timewire receives the worst possible news She can't become a citizen of the world. She's a Diseased One. Born with a biomarker that bestows dangerous, brain-altering powers, Hollis is forced to hide underground with other Diseased Ones, who believe the government falsified history to cover up their genocide. Now Hollis must discover the truth, and is willing to risk anything, including her powers, to go back home.

#8 The Power of Witches by: Shay Bencosme

So I initially read this to support my friend who was in the military at the time, and this book I rated 4 stars. It was an interesting read about a girl who was born a witch and was put into the Foster Care system. I felt like this book was well written based off the amount of references made about Foster Care. She is currently writing the second book in this series, and I will be getting it as soon as she publishes it.

Noa Rembrandt was found in a dumpster. Since then, she’s been wanting only one thing in life: to find a loving family to take her in or successfully age out of the foster system. She thought she’d found her family until after her eighth birthday, her younger foster brother died under suspicious circumstances—circumstances Noa might have had a part in. Now at sixteen and with nowhere else to go, Noa Rembrandt is sent to Gardenside County Home for Troubled Youth. With a countdown to her eighteenth birthday, Noa is determined to keep her head down and not cause any trouble. Trouble instead finds her, in the form of her eccentric roommate and cute boy across the hall who both seem to know more about Noa’s background than she does.

#9 The Haunting of Brynn Wilder by: Wendy Webb

I actually downloaded this on a day when it was free and man it did not disappoint. I will not spoil this one for you, I think you need to honestly read it for yourself so you can see what I am talking about. Just get it. You won't be disappointed.

From the #1 Amazon Charts bestselling author of Daughters of the Lake comes an enthralling spellbinder of love, death, and a woman on the edge. After a devastating loss, Brynn Wilder escapes to Wharton, a tourist town on Lake Superior, to reset. Checking into a quaint boardinghouse for the summer, she hopes to put her life into perspective. In her fellow lodgers, she finds a friendly company of strangers: the frail Alice, cared for by a married couple with a heartbreaking story of their own; LuAnn, the eccentric and lovable owner of the inn; and Dominic, an unsettlingly handsome man inked from head to toe in mesmerizing tattoos.

But in this inviting refuge, where a century of souls has passed, a mystery begins to swirl. Alice knows things about Brynn, about all of them, that she shouldn’t. Bad dreams and night whispers lure Brynn to a shuttered room at the end of the hall, a room still heavy with a recent death. And now she’s become irresistibly drawn to Dominic—even in the shadow of rumors that wherever he goes, suspicious death follows. In this chilling season of love, transformation, and fear, something is calling for Brynn. To settle her past, she may have no choice but to answer.

#10 Carrie by: Stephen King

Call me crazy, but up until this year I have never read any Stephen King books. Mostly because of my upbringing they weren't allowed into my home. That being said Book Bound, a bookish subscription box company I work with decided to theme their winter box around the classic author. So you best know I got to educating myself, and chose this book. Even though it's older, I figured it would be worth the recommendation because it was technically new to me.

Stephen King's legendary debut, about a teenage outcast and the revenge she enacts on her classmates, is a Classic. CARRIE is the novel which set him on the road to the Number One bestselling author King is today. Carrie White is no ordinary girl. Carrie White has the gift of telekinesis. To be invited to Prom Night by Tommy Ross is a dream come true for Carrie - the first step towards social acceptance by her high school colleagues. But events will take a decidedly macabre turn on that horrifying and endless night as she is forced to exercise her terrible gift on the town that mocks and loathes her.

Well that's it guys! I hope you enjoyed my Kindle recommendations! Whether you are techy or enjoy a good physical copy, I just want you to check out these amazing reads. You seriously won't regret it. Also check back daily, I have been really enjoying creating these blogs for you. Until next time!
