Abby may ask Mariah to be her surrogate on 'The Young and the Restless'

On The Young and the Restless Abby Newman/Chancellor and Mariah Copeland have been getting closer for quite a while. Their family dynamic is quite interesting beginning with Nick and Sharon being Faith's parents. Mariah is the child taken from a teenage Sharon at birth. This makes Faith her half-sister, Nick her stepfather, and his sister Abby her aunt through marriage. Abby is also Summer's aunt, which makes Mariah her stepsister and Faith her half-sister.

Sharon has been married to Victor Newman and both of his sons Nick and Adam which only confuses this narrative and cause Marriah and Abby to be double related through marriage on several sides. The point being is that these women are connected in every direction including friendship. Mariah, Tessa, Abby, Lola, and Elena have hung out together for girls night out and remain quite close. No one, however, saw what everyone believes to be coming next.

Some fans were stunned when Abby chose Mariah as her maid of honor during her recent wedding to Phillip "Chance" Chancellor IV. It was Mariah who gave Abby a pep talk when she was not sure she could go through with the wedding. Their connection continues to deepen and now it seems to be clear what the writers are intending. The bond between these Abby and Mariah has been developing fast and now many Y&R viewers believe they know why. Abby just found out she has scar tissue and cannot get pregnant and was beyond devastated. Ironically Mariah was recently discussing motherhood with her other half, Tessa. Viewers as well as spoilers believe that Abby will ask Mariah to be her surrogate and carry a baby to term for her. This will solve the issue for Chance and his new wife, but brings up another question. Once Mariah is carrying the child and gives birth, could she change her mind and decide she and Tessa should raise the baby together?

Perhaps the duo may later decide to adopt but there is a reason the writers had them have this conversation but it could only be related to Abby and not themselves. There is also another scenario that could play out in this situation. Mariah could find out that she cannot be a surrogate for her aunt and it ends up being Tessa who has to carry Abby's baby to term. Ms. Porter is a famous singer and had been on tour, but she might take time off in order to help out her extended family.

Soaps.com indicates that this coming week on The Young and the Restless, that Abby has a question for Mariah. This is why it is believed that it will be a request that Ms. Copeland help her to give Chance a child. All of this is speculation and Abby could ask Mariah anything. Y&R viewers on social media are certain that the storyline is headed in the direction of surrogacy but there has been no official confirmation yet. Viewers were stunned when Chance and Abby took over the Chancellor estate as Abby has a mansion that was left to her in her father's will. Perhaps she and Chance will raise yet another generation of Chancellor's in that home.
