Luke Macfarlane's real name is Thomas Luke Macfarlane. He was born in London Ontario, Canada on January 19, 1980. Luke has an older sister named Rebecca and a twin sister named Ruth. The actor became a naturalized American citizen on June 12, 2018.

Luke's acting career began in 2003 after he studied drama at Juilliard in New York City. The Canadian actor starred in many movies before he began performing in movies on the Hallmark Channel.

Luke performed in his first Hallmark movie, The Memory Book, in 2014 with co-star Meghan Ory who plays Chloe. She finds an old photo album at a flea market that is full of romantic pictures.
