By now, we're well aware that the Nintendo Switch has absolutely taken the world by storm since releasing last March.

The Switch bug has even affected yours truly! As far as my Vocal content goes, it's all I've written about so far.

Lots of us gamers are from the Nintendo generation and it shows with the way we've quickly embraced the new hybrid console from the Japanese giants.

Things are finally looking up for Nintendo, especially considering how much of a lackluster effort the Wii U was.

That said, you've clicked this link because you're in the company of a Nintendo Switch owner. Perhaps he or she is receiving said Switch on Christmas day, perhaps you're looking to buy games or accessories for your special someone.

Either way, you've come to the right place. Here's our Nintendo Switch Holiday Buyer's guide.

Let's kick it off with the one facet every Nintendo console is known for, accessories.

Right off the bat, I have to commend Hori for doing a fantastic job manufacturing Nintendo's officially licensed accessories.

There might be more than one of their products on this list and that's well-deserved.

The Nintendo Switch owner will want to protect his new console and the Hori Tough Pouch is a great alternative.

It's lined with felt and comes with a soft flap which protects your screen from the inside and also holds a few games.

This is the perfect gift for a small budget Secret Santa or a stocking stuffer!

Yet another small price tag. Perfect for stockings or buying several small gifts to make sure your loved one gets his Switch journey started on the right foot.

The compact stand has three different positions, which is perfect for a quick Mario Kart session at Christmas dinner.

Until your mom kicks you out of the kitchen because you're forty and shouldn't steal your nephew's Nintendo.

From the protruding clicky buttons to its perfect weight distribution, gamers looking to enhance their Switch experience will want a Pro Controller.

It was a day one purchase for me and I couldn't be happier with it. This is undeniably the best video game controller on the market, hands down.

One of the Switch's great features is the ability to continue your gaming on the go. Unfortunately, some games require more juice than others and you can very quickly find yourself low on battery.

That's where Anker's PowerCore+ comes in. They have several models, but anything above 20 000mAh--which is the unit that measures electric power over time--will have enough power in it to charge the Switch while playing.

This is a perfect, albeit more expensive, gift for that special someone who's always commuting or traveling for business.

Lastly, let's have a look at some must-have games for Nintendo's new console.

Keep in mind that there are plenty of indie games on the Nintendo eShop--which you can find gift cards for at your favorite superstore.

The Switch launched with a handful of games but the only title we focused on last March was the new Zelda offering.

Taking a departure from Link's usual adventures, Breath of the Wild offers a more open world feel.

Want to wake up, put some clothes on, grab a wooden stick and fight Ganon? Go ahead, Hyrule Castle is right in the middle of your map.

Get this for the RPG-loving, Link-adoring gamer.

If you adored Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy, this is the lovechild of those two games.

Use Mario's hat to take over enemies and objects which helps you solve puzzles and traverse through the platforming elements.

With countless moons to collect and several different worlds to visit, Odyssey is one of the best Nintendo offerings of all time.

This--and the aforementioned Zelda--will be in everyone's game of the year discussions this Holiday season.

If you happened to miss the stellar Mario Kart 8 on Wii U it's been brilliantly repackaged on Nintendo Switch.

Better yet, now we have high definition Mario karting on the go and that's something everyone should be smiling about.

With the addition of versus mode, all of the DLC from the Wii U edition and some Splatoon elements; this is the definitive Mario Kart 8 experience.

Why stick to only having Inkling boy and girl on your Mario Kart track? With Splatoon 2 you can literally grab control of them and paint the town red--or purple.

It's fun, it's colorful and features one of the catchiest soundtracks I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing.

What sets it apart from other games--like the evil Battlefront 2--is the constant stream of free updates and in-game events.

And unlike the bad guys at EA, you don't need to grind for lootboxes--or even worse, buy them. Free, is the operative word.
