The gaming industry is getting bigger and bigger every day. After COVID-19, the gaming industry has reached a new height. During lockdown, most people kill their free time by streaming series or playing online games. If you are an introvert or don’t like walking out often then gaming is one of the best things to do for spending free time. You can find any kind of game you like such as the hunter call of the wild controls PC. The gaming industry is offering games for kids to adults. You can play MMO, MMORPGs, FPS, and MOBA games on your phone on PCs, easily. Playing video games is good until it is causing any bad impact.

Video games can make your kid addicted

The biggest problem behind gaming is addiction. Playing games to kill free time is not bad. But kids don’t really have free time now. They have to go to school, have after-school coaching, or may have other activities. Instead of spending their free time relaxing, they often play video games. Playing games for an hour is not that bad. But kids often get addicted to the game and spend hours and hours playing the game. They may miss their after-school classes or wake up the whole night to play the game. The number of gaming-addicted kids is increasing day by day. These games are designed in a way that can encourage the gamers to play more such as bonuses and special rewards. To collect these rewards and bonuses, kids spend their precious time gaming.

Your kid may start neglecting real-world problems

Kids spend most of their time playing games. They have lots of friends online to MMO games. The problem appears when the kid starts neglecting real-time problems. If he scores less in academics, instead of reading, he often starts playing games to manage his mood. Well, playing a game to lighten up the mood is a good option but it won’t help you in real life. Kids feel better after winning a game. Due to this, whenever they feel sad or pressured, they start playing games. This will not fix their problems. They need to deal with their problems themselves.

Some online games promote gambling

You can find a lot of online gaming on the internet. Those games have age restrictions but kids often create accounts with their parents' id. This is becoming a major issue as kids are very prone to gambling. Kids have a limited amount of pocket money. To get some money, they often start playing online gaming games. These games may give you good money in the beginning. But once you become addicted, you will start losing. There are lots of kids who lost thousands of dollars in these games.

Video games can affect your physical and mental health

Playing online games affects your physical health a lot. Spending lots of time watching the screen can affect your eyes. It also causes depression as playing games affects your real life. Kids easily make friends online but this can cut them from the real world. Due to this, kids often grow social anxiety. They can talk online to anyone in the world. But making simple conversations in real life becomes very difficult. Gaming affects your sleep time a lot. Instead of sleeping, kids spend the whole night playing games. Due to this, they wake up in a bad mood and may perform poorly in academics.

Poor concentration

Some research shows that gaming can help in improving concentration as certain games require good concentration, cognitive functions, and problem-solving skills. But not all games are the same. Spending lots of time screen-watching can affect your concentration. It can affect your study a lot. Kids may be unable to concentrate on studying. They may start feeling restless after 10 minutes of studying. Kids often face issues in managing classes at school.

Can become a victim of cybercrime

Kids know how to install and play a game. Today kids start playing games on their parents’ devices at the age of 5-6. They install the game from the play store and start playing. These kids are good at using phones but are not smart enough to understand online threats. One click on a malicious site can cost you a lot. You can lose your personal details and funds. Not only this, but hackers can also steal your identity to attempt serious crimes. Gaming is also becoming a big hub for cyberbullying. Kids often get bullied for money and other things. One mistake can make your life upside-down.

Online gaming is not always harmful. Playing games like problem-solving, programming, etc can help your kid to improve his cognitive functions and concentration. Some games can be very good at releasing stress. However, you should check your kids’ routines to prevent any issues.
