URC teams: Conway and Addison make returns

Andrew Conway, who has been sidelined for nearly 18 months due to a long-term knee injury, will make his return to competitive rugby for Munster in their BKT United Rugby Championship season opener against the Sharks on Saturday (5.15pm). The defending champions have retained six players from their URC final victory over the Stormers in May, including Calvin Nash on the left wing and Shane Daly, who has moved to full-back. Ethan Coughlan, the scrum-half, will make his first start for the province and will partner Joey Carbery in the half-backs. Antoine Frische and Rory Scannell will form the midfield partnership. In the forward pack, loosehead Josh Wycherley will make his 50th appearance for the team, alongside Stephen Archer and Diarmuid Barron in the front row. Edwin Edogbo and Fineen Wycherley will be the second-row pairing, while Gavin Coombes will start at number eight, flanked by captain Jack O'Donoghue and Alex Kendellen. On the bench, there are potential debuts for Kieran Ryan, Brian Gleeson, and Shay McCarthy, who are part of the academy. Gleeson, who impressed for the Ireland U20 side in the Junior World Championship final, scored two tries in a recent friendly win against the Barbarians. New signing Alex Nankivell is also among the replacements, along with Scott Buckley, Tom Ahern, Neil Cronin, and the returning John Ryan. In another fixture, Scott Penny will captain the Leinster team for the first time in a competitive match when they face Glasgow in Scotstoun on Sunday (4pm).The Leinster team for their upcoming match includes Ciarán Frawley at full-back, Tommy O'Brien and Jordan Larmour on the wings, Liam Turner and Charlie Ngatai in the centre, and Harry Byrne and Luke McGrath completing the back line. Jack Boyle starts for the first time in the pack, joined by John McKee and Thomas Clarkson in the front row, Ross Molony and Jason Jenkins in the heart of the pack, and Max Deegan, Scott Penny (capt), and James Culhane in the back row.
