We Just Got Our First Look At 'Resident Evil 7's New Mutant, But What Is it?
Resident Evil VII has been under a lot of scrutiny for locking away those ghastly creatures we've all been dying to see. We've all been wondering the same thing: Will zombies return? Will we see lickers jumping across walls and ceilings while we pray we miraculously survive? Or will we fall victim to a family full of potential cannibals who may just be infected with some new virus all together? While the movies are headed in a much different direction, we're sure that this new virus may show up, if Capcom decides to let it do so.

Horror as a genre is something we've all come to know and love quite well. With games such as Agony, Resident Evil VII: Biohazard, Prey, and even P.A.M.E.L.A. aimed to change how we view the horror genre in 2017 in a dreadfully amazing way, it's hard to say there aren't a few shows or movies that could bring horror back from the dead. Devices such as the Oculus Rift, the HTC Vive, and the upcoming PlayStation VR are finally hitting the market and horror itself as a genre is about to grow even more immersive than ever before.

Five Nights at Freddy's has become one of the biggest examples of how big indie game developers can make it and how far pure fandom can take a property. For awhile now there have been rumors swirling about FNAF receiving the testimony for its success with a live action movie in the works.

Hidetaka Miyazaki hasn't been shy about From Software's plans to move on from the Dark Souls franchise before the launch of Dark Souls 3 earlier this year. With 'Ashes of Ariandel' coming up this October, it's hard to fathom that such a great series is coming to an indefinite pause. While this does spell an indefinite end for the franchise, it also leads hope to see Bloodborne 2 in the near future.

Survival Horror, Action Horror, and even First-Person Horror have all been genres that have flooded the gaming industry in the past decade. Horror is a genre that is easy to touch, but not easy to master. Seldom do we manage to see games that capture the essence of what it is to spur fear into the hearts of those who play them.

In the past, Resident Evil is a series that would turn heads if a whisper of an announcement leaked out into the world - that was until Resident Evil 5 came into the scene and drove the series in a downward spiral. In recent years, the downward spiral has gotten worse with titles such as Resident Evil's 5, 6, and Operation Raccoon City. While Operation Raccoon City is a personal favourite, it doesn't mean the title was good or even great, but was still slightly enjoyable as a cooperative game.
Dustin MurphyPublished 6 years ago in GamersHorror Games: Why are We Drawn to Them?
Laying in bed at night isn't as difficult as much as one would think. In my youth I was one that found myself swooned to sleep by the articulated writings of H.P. Lovecraft. On Friday nights when I was six, I would sit on the couch beside my favorite stuffed bunny (whom I have to this day), and watch Sigourney Weaver and Bill Paxton team together to eliminate their xenomorph threat. On Saturdays, I would sit quietly on the floor with my parents, all perked up and watching Hellraiser. My favorite parts of all three? The artistic creativity behind all three of them. The artistic imagination it took to create the things I was seeing visually.

Lock the doors and boot up the security system, because it looks like a Five Nights at Freddy's film could be knocking at the window. Based on the popular survival #horror #videogame, it was a safe bet that a feature-film or some form of live-action avenue would come crawling out from under the bed.
