Roblox Is Making Its Way to the Meta Quest VR

It’s not just a single game; it’s a collection of games, all created by the community. That’s right, anyone can be a game developer in Roblox!

Roblox on the Meta Quest VR?

So, we’ve been waiting forever for virtual reality to finally become a big thing. But it looks like Roblox is about to make it happen. It’s coming to Meta Quest VR headsets real soon.

You’ll be able to play Roblox in virtual reality on the Meta Quest 2 and Quest Pro headsets, and even on the new Quest 3 when it comes out later this year. At first, it will be in open beta, which means it’s a chance for Roblox developers to make their games work even better on VR and create new ones just for it.

Some of the existing Roblox experiences will automatically be available in VR because they already work perfectly. Meta said:

“Roblox is automatically publishing some experiences that use default player scripts to support VR devices.

They’ve found that those experiences typically run well in VR without modifications, so they’re seeding the Roblox VR library with great content from day one.”

And the best part? Roblox in VR will also work with Xbox, iOS, Android, and desktop, so you can play with your friends no matter what platform they’re on. It’s gonna be the most social VR experience ever!

This is a huge deal for Meta and VR in general. The number of people with VR headsets on Steam has been stuck at less than 2% for years. But Roblox is different. It has millions of different experiences to choose from, and millions of people who play them every single day.

Plus, most Roblox players are younger and more open-minded about new tech, so this could be the turning point for VR.

Final Words

Just a heads up, Roblox on Meta Quest VR headsets is only for players who are 13 and older.

Parents can control access using the existing Meta Quest parental supervision tools.

We don’t know the exact release date yet, but the open beta will reportedly start in the coming weeks.
