NBA Jam : a great triumph in sports gaming

Back in the day I had a Sega Genesis Game Gear and it ruled! The one game that I had was “NBA Jam” and it was a great basketball video game. I used to go to the bowling alley when NBA jam video game came out and I would always ask for quarters and change to go to the arcade that was in the bowling alley just to play. It was the first arcade game I ever really played. I loved it. The look and aesthetic of the video game standalone machine was awesome too, as well as the video game that I was playing on it.

The legends of the game at the time and onward even had their selves put into video game too. That’s how popular this legendary and iconic video game is and remains till this day. To my knowledge, Nintendo was the video game company that came out with the first basketball video game called double dribble and the way I see it is NBA jam was the answer to double dribble.

Unlike with double dribble with NBA jam you actually got the option to choose what teams you want to be and who you want to be when you were playing the video game, which is a nice touch and a nice feature that like I said double dribble did not offer. Having played both video games and loved every minute of it. I gotta say one is not better than the other rach offer Something unique to the table and I really did spend a lot of time playing both video games so I can actually say that.

The graphics on NBA jam when you would play, it would actually look as though you were watching the basketball game like you would see on TV then and now I mean, that’s how Crystal cleared the graphics for when I came to this video game. NBA jam is really a groundbreaking innovated video game like that was seriously ahead of its time on so many levels and still is.

You know this video game is so legendary that they even did a documentary about the video game and I watched it and I loved every minute of it and I also learned a lot about what went into making such a iconic video game that we now have to enjoy forever and always amen.

Even then, when I originally had the video game, I always went for the Knicks and the Miami Heat. I went for the players that I knew and knew I’d be honored to play as them in the video game, but the two teams that I would go for is the Nets I mean the next like I said meaning that I come from New York so I had to and also the Miami Heat too.

It took me writing this article for me to remember that now that I remember, they actually had a barstool with the NBA jam logo on it that you know you could actually have a seat as you’re playing the video game, which was a nice touch and I’ve never seen another video game. Do that I mean, unless you go for the Arcade games where you like a racing and stuff so so yeah that was a nice feature. I forgot about that until I was doing this article.

Both basketball video games that I talked about in this article really are classic in the genre in their own rights. Like I said they both offer something totally unique to the game and the genre as I say.
