MHA Strongest Hero: 5 More Potential Characters

Another 5 playable characters that should join the game's roster (Round 1/Part 2)

My Hero Academia... The show is arguably one of the greatest anime series of all time. Whether or not you agree with that statement, you can't deny that it's certainly one of the most popular. Just like every great anime that came before it, once the show gained some popularity among the masses it wasn't long after that video games based on the series were created. Now personally, I think all of the games that have been released for consoles (Xbox, Playstation, etc.) are absolute garbage. Honestly, I'm not a fan of traditional fighting games. As iconic as Mortal Combat has been throughout video game history, most games that were intended to replicate its blueprint burned out long before they could match that amount of popularity. Other fighting games, like Dragon Ball Z, reached that level of success because they were developed using a different format. 1v1 fighting games had their time to shine 10 years ago, however, this generation of "Open World" experiences make traditional fighting games kind of boring. I wouldn't even need an entire hand to count the 1v1 fighting franchises that are still popular today. That being said, a video game based on My Hero Academia has so much potential as an open-world experience, all of the entries that have been released for consoles have been extremely disappointing. Fans of the anime, such as myself, were losing hope that we would be given a game worthy of representing the My Hero universe. Until last year in December.., when My Hero Academia: The Strongest Hero was released on mobile devices, finally answering all of our prayers.

This game is absolutely amazing and since it was created for mobile devices, it wouldn't cost a single penny for you to find out why. MHA: The Strongest Hero literally gets everything that the console games got wrong, oh so right. Unlock heroes from the series to join your hero agency and then use them to take down bad guys. Explore the Japanese city in an open-world environment filled with challenges, collectibles, and all the villains you desire to beat the shit out of. Quite honestly, It would require some deep thought for me to come up with anything negative. If you ask me, this is potentially one of the greatest mobile phone games of all time.

One of the greatest things about MHA: The Strongest Hero is the list of playable characters that can be unlocked. Most of the characters that the fandom considers popular can be acquired within the game. In spite of that fact, the MHA universe is so phenomenal that there is still a multitude of characters who have yet to make the roster. In all honesty, I could have easily made a list of the top 100 potential characters but I didn't feel like writing an entire novel, well.., at least not all at once. Instead, it felt more rational to choose a top 10 and so I published the first half of the 10 characters that I believe should be released in the game. The first 5 spots were given to class 1-A's tape slinger Saro in 5th place, class 1-B's rep, Kendo in 4th, 3rd place went to Season 4 villain Overhaul, Shiketsu High 1st year Yorashi was the runner up, and UA's "Big Three" Lemillion took the top spot. I purposely chose characters from different groups within the series, so that the list was comprised of a variety of different kinds of characters. However, that was only 5 out of the top 10; meaning half of the spots on the list remain available. While I don't expect everyone to agree with all of my choices, I'm confident that we'll all be on the same page for the majority of them.

Kyoka Jiro (Earphone Jack) /Class 1-A Hero In Training

Out of class 1-A's 6 female students, 4 have already been made available for players to unlock. The first entry in our list goes to the only popular class 1-A female hero that isn't a playable character. Punk rock hero Kyoka Jiro or Earphone Jack. She is the kind of potential Strongest Hero character that would require the developers to get a bit creative. Her quirk grants her a ranged fighting style like Kaminari or Dabi and she definitely possesses enough combat skills to be released to players in the game's future. I mean come on! They have Mineta as a playable character and he is nowhere near as strong of a hero as Jiro. So if that little perv can be given a spot among the characters we can use to take out villains, then Jiro should have one as well.

Jin Bubaigawara (Twice) /League of Villains

When this member of the League of Villains was first introduced during the summer training camp ark, his quirk was a difficult obstacle for the heroes to deal with. The ability to create a clone of allies just as powerful as the original, like Dabi, forces the opposition to defeat them over and over again. The second film of the series, MHA: Heroes Rising, showed us that the clones he creates can be relied on to complete dangerous missions without taking any real casualties in the process.

Then, during the My Villain Academia ark, we got to see just how much of a threat this League of Villains member could really be. The villain revealed what is potentially his most powerful attack "sad man parade", where he creates hundreds of clones of himself all at once. Take a moment to create a mental picture of what his abilities would look like if he was the next addition to the Strongest Hero roster. How badass would it be if players could summon Shigaraki, Dabi, or even the Nomu High-End at will or overwhelm their opponents with an army of Twice clones? It's impossible to deny the fact that his p0wer would make him a character that players can't wait to unlock. Out of every League of Villains member that has yet to be included in the game, Twice is hands down the best choice for the dev's to add next

Yo Shindo (Grand) /Ketsibutsu Acadamy

Like Shiketsu High, Ketsibutsu High is another school with a hero course for aspiring pros. Out of the 4 Ketsibutsu students that stood out in the series, Yo Shindo had more screen/panel time by far. While Shiketsu's all-star Yorashi is an "air bender", Shindo is more of an "earth bender". His power allows him to create tremors in the ground, causing violent earthquakes. The two heroes in training are polar opposites in other ways aside from their quirks as well. Inasa Yorashi is loud, says exactly what he's thinking, and relies on his brute strength to accomplish the mission. It's almost as if Horokoshi made a conscious effort to design Shindo to be on the other side of the spectrum. He takes of tactical approach to his objectives, using both charm and intellect to manipulate the opposition.

In regards to a spot on the Strongest Hero lineup, it doesn't take a genius developer to figure out how many special attacks a quirk like Shindo's can create. There is no denying how badass his power is, even his basic attacks would be cool to see in-game. He's stronger than nearly half of the UA students in class 1-A and they're the ones in the limelight throughout the vast majority of the series. Aside from maybe 3 or 4 students, Shindo's popularity exceeds most of class 1-B as well. Pretty impressive for a character who appears only once in the anime and twice in the manga. I'm willing to bet he would have just as much of an impact in the game.

Rumi Usagiyama (Mirko) /Top 10 Pro Hero

She was revealed to be the highest-ranking female pro hero when she made her debut at the end of season 4. Then after Endeavor had been completely worn out after defeating the elite Nomu High End, we got to see Mirko in action for the first time as she defended the number 1 hero from Dabi. However, if you thought that proved how tough she is, what she does later on in the manga during the war ark made her one of the most badass heroes in the entire series. There is a reason she was ranked 5th in the hero billboard charts.

Mirko's quirk gives her all of the abilities a rabbit has. While that may not sound all that impressive at first, once you see what she is capable of your opinion will do a complete 180. If she was added to MHA: Strongest Hero as a playable character, she would definitely be one of the most powerful close combat options in the game. As far as pro heroes in the game go, we have been given 4 so far. All Might, Endeavor, Hawks, and Erasure Head, are all playable characters. It would be cool if the next pro to join the roster was a female and I can't think of a single one that would be a better choice than Mirko. Sure there are other female pros who are worthy inclusions but none deserve to be first as much as Rumi. This is exactly why she is a perfect choice to be a part of our top ten list.

Shinya Kamihara (Edge Shot) /Top 10 pro hero

The number 4 hero on the billboard charts and leader of the hero team Lurkers, we have the ninja hero Edge Shot. He was one of the main heroes to assist All Might during the events in Kamino. During the first attempt to rescue Bakugo, Kamihara wasted little time proving that he was a lethal force. He is a quick striker, usually piercing through his enemies to incapacitate them. His quirk allows him to fold his body as flat as he wants to fit through the tightest spaces or become as sharp as a needle that flies through an opponent's body before they even have the chance to blink.

As much of a worthy addition Edge Shot would be to the game, it doesn't the fact that it would be challenging for the devs to do so. His power makes it kind of difficult to picture what his fighting style would look like. If you have seen what he looks like during combat in the anima then you probably know exactly what I'm talking about. Although I wouldn't worry about how they would accomplish his Strongest Hero release too much. I have faith that if those at the MHA: SH office can make Mineta a playable character, then Edge Shot shouldn't be too difficult to figure out.
