Lunar Domain - Dungeons and Dragons Homebrew
Divine Domain
Lunar Domain - Cleric Domain
Clerics of the Moon, often called Lunar Clerics, are incredibly varied in their reasons for worship. Some pray to the moon and its deities as a beacon of light and hope in the dark of night; some pray for the wondrous power it exerts over the tides, bringing life to the seas; and some pray to the moon as the eve of lycanthropes, using its power both to protect the hunted among their ranks and to reveal and burn away the hunters who prey on the weak.

Lunar Magic
1st-level Lunar Domain feature
You can call upon the power of the moons. As a bonus action, you can imbue yourself with either the strength of the Crescent Moon or the Gibbous Moon:
- Crescent Moon. You gain a bonus to Dexterity saving throws equal to your Wisdom modifier, your speed increases by 10 feet, and opportunity attacks against you have disadvantage. You know the Guidance cantrip, and you can cast it as a bonus action.
- Gibbous Moon. You gain a bonus to Constitution saving throws equal to your Wisdom modifier, you gain a +1 bonus to AC, and you gain temporary hit points equal to five times your Wisdom modifier. You know the Resistance cantrip, and you can cast it as a bonus action.
The benefits last for 1 minute, or until you end it as a bonus action. Once you do so, you can’t do it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Moon’s Sight
1st-level Lunar Domain feature
You are blessed with the revealing light of the moon. As an action, you can open your awareness to magically detect shapeshifters. Until the end of your next turn, you know the location of any shapeshifter within 60 feet of you that isn't behind total cover and that isn't protected from divination magic. This sense doesn't tell you anything about a creature's capabilities or identity.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Channel Divinity: Moonlight Sanctuary
2nd-level Lunar Domain feature
You can use your Channel Divinity to abjure shapeshifters.
As an action, you present your holy symbol and create an aura of revealing light that extends from you in a 30-foot-radius sphere. The aura lasts for one minute. Each shapeshifter that starts its turn in the aura must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or instantly revert to its original form and be unable to assume a different form until the start of its next turn.
Celestial Magic
6th-level Lunar Domain feature
Your Lunar Magic feature improves. While your Lunar Magic feature is active, weapons you wield count as silvered. In addition, your Crescent and Gibbous Moons grant the following additional benefits:
- Crescent Moon. Whenever you take the Attack action on your turn, you can use your bonus action to make another melee attack. While this feature is active, you can cast the Haste spell without using a spell slot. Once you use this feature to cast it, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest.
- Gibbous Moon. You become resistant to necrotic and radiant damage. Once this feature is active, you can cast the Slow spell without using a spell slot. Once you use this feature to cast it, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest.
Divine Strike
8th-level Lunar Domain feature
You gain the ability to infuse your weapon strikes with divine energy. Once on each of your turns when you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can cause the attack to deal an extra 1d8 radiant damage. When you reach 14th level, the extra damage increases to 2d8. This damage increases by 1d8 if the target is a shapeshifter.
Avatar of Radiance
17th-level Lunar Domain feature
You take on the mantle of moonlight. You gain the following benefits:
- Your outline faintly glows with moonlight in the light. As an action, you can darken the glow, blocking it out, or brighten it, shedding bright light in a 30-foot radius and dim light for a further 30 feet. The bright light counts as light created by a 3rd-level Daylight spell for the purpose of dispelling darkness created by spells. You can revert it to a faint outline as a bonus action.
- You no longer need to sleep and can’t be forced to sleep by any means. To gain the benefits of a long rest, you can spend 8 hours doing light activity.
- Whenever you are targeted by an effect that would change your form, you can use your reaction to ignore that effect.
- You can cast the Sanctuary spell on another creature without using a spell slot and without requiring concentration. When you do so, the warded creature can make attacks and cast spells without breaking the ward. Once you cast Sanctuary in this way, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
