Congratulations Team India

India is poised to lift the T20 World Cup trophy in 2024. The Indian cricket team has been a dominant force in the shortest format of the game, showcasing their skill, power, and adaptability on the international stage. With a talented pool of players, a strong coaching staff, and a passionate fan base, India is the favorite to clinch the coveted T20 World Cup title in the upcoming edition. The team's recent performances, coupled with their ability to perform under pressure, make them a formidable opponent for any team they face. As the countdown to the 2024 tournament begins, the nation eagerly awaits the moment when the Indian flag will be raised high, celebrating their triumph in the T20 World Cup.

The final match against South Africa was a nail-biter, with India defending a target of 176 runs. The Proteas, needing 30 runs from the last 30 deliveries, appeared to have the upper hand. However, India's bowlers, led by Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and Arshdeep Singh, held their nerve in the crucial moments. Pandya, in particular, shone in the final over, successfully defending 16 runs and sealing a dramatic seven-run victory for India.

Two of India's greatest ever cricketers - Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma - announced their T20I retirements yesterday after the T20 World Cup win. While Kohli announced his retirement minutes after the historic triumph, India captain Rohit Sharma announced it in the official post match press conference

Social media was flooded with congratulatory messages and images of celebratory scenes as India edged past South Africa by seven runs in the final match of T20 World Cup 2024 at the Kensington Oval, Barbados to clinch an ICC title after 11 years.

Former India World Cup-winning captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni congratulated the Indian team for winning the 2024 T20 World Cup title after beating South Africa in the final by seven runs in Barbados on Saturday.

Dhoni wrote in an Instagram post, “Word Cup Champions 2024. My heart rate was up, well done on being calm, having the self belief and doing what u guys did. From all the Indians back home and everywhere in the world a big thank you for bringing the World Cup home.”

Dhoni was captain when India clinched the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup, in 2007, after beating archrival Pakistan in the final. Under his captaincy, India also won the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy, which was the last ICC title the Men in Blue clinched before Saturday.

With South Africa needing 16 runs to win off the final over, all-rounder Hardik Pandya held his nerve and to help India eke out a seven-run win. Suryakumar Yadav took a brilliant catch at long-off to send the dangerous David Miller back to the pavillion off the first ball of the over. From there on, it was a bridge too far for tail-enders Keshav Maharaj and Kagiso Rabada.

India found two more heroes in Jasprit Bumrah and Suryakumar Yadav. With a miserly 18th over, Bumrah tightened the screws on South Africa. Bumrah conceded two runs and picked up a wicket in those six balls, which put the Proteas in a corner.

The final nail in the coffin was driven by Suryakumar Yadav, who pulled off a brilliant catch to dismiss David Miller in the last over. A juggling effort from Suryakumar at long-off sent the last recognised batter back. South Africa was knocked out cold.
