Back when I first got a Nintendo DSi for my 9th birthday, I loved playing Mario Party with my cousins. Any chance I had, I would be playing this game with them and always enjoying myself.

But ever since I stopped playing with my DSi, I never really got back into Mario Party since I preferred to play more action-focused games such as FPS (First Person Shooter) games or racing games.

Recently, I decided to buy the most recent Mario Party game for my Nintendo Switch, just so that I could play with my friends whenever they came over. It was a lot more fun than I expected.

What is Mario Party?

Mario Party is a popular series of party video games developed and published by Nintendo.

The games feature characters from the Mario franchise and typically involve players moving around a virtual board game, playing mini-games, and competing to collect the most stars or coins.

Players can play with each other locally or online. The series has released several iterations over the years.

Mario Party is a popular game among friends and family, it’s a great way to spend time together and have fun.

What does the gameplay entail?

Mario Party gameplay typically involves players moving around a virtual board game and competing to collect the most stars or coins. The game progresses in turns, with each player rolling a virtual die to move their character along the board.

As players move around the board, they will land on different spaces that can trigger various events. Some spaces may trigger short mini-games and fast-paced challenges that players must compete in to earn coins or stars.

Other spaces may lead to item shops, where players can purchase helpful items using the coins they have collected. Some spaces may also trigger special events like boss battles or challenges that can help or hinder players on their quest to collect stars or coins.

The game's goal is to collect as many stars or coins as possible to win the game. In some versions of Mario Party, the stars are collected by landing on special spaces on the board or by winning mini-games, while in other versions, players can buy stars with the collected coins. The player with the most stars or coins at the end of the game is declared the winner.

As the series progressed, different iterations of the game introduced new features and gameplay mechanics. For example, in Mario Party 9 and 10, players move on a vehicle together, and the mini-games are less focused on 1v3 and 2v2 games and more on individual performance.

Additionally, some versions have introduced new boards, characters, items, and minigames, providing a unique experience and giving players a reason to come back to the game again and again.

My experience with the latest Mario Party game.

About a week ago, I bought the latest version of Mario Party called “Super Mario Party.” Ever since then, I have had my friends over almost every night just to play this game.

On the surface, this game may look like a boring kids' game to those who haven't played it before. But in reality, it can be one of the most fun games you can play with your friends in person.

I’ve found that this game is a lot more fun if you’re playing with your friends in person compared to playing with them online. There is just something about taking a break from online play for a while and playing a game in a living room.

I believe it because humans are very social creatures, and any type of in-person bonding time can be very beneficial and healthy for anyone. This game, along with other Nintendo games such as Mario Kart, allows me and my friends to just kick back and have a few laughs while offline.
