I am a gamer. As I started to learn about the blockchain and all of the potential future development in this space, I began to dream about what blockchain technology could mean for gamers like me: Whole worlds built on technologies that allowed me to truly own the assets that I earned; the opportunity for the achievements that I earned to translate into real-world value; and the largest, mind-boggling dream of all, a situation in which the standard pay to play system was reversed in on itself and I was actually earned as I played.

Slowly, these dreams are beginning to be realized in the blockchain world. Right now, there are games that I can spend my idle time playing that offer the opportunity to earn cryptocurrencies and allow me to profit. But the vast majority of these games are mind numbing in their simplicity and playing them is more a chose than a pleasure.

So, imagine my excitement when I learned about a game that appeals to me as a player, allows me to game with friends to complete team-oriented goals, is built on the blockchain, and presents viable play-to-earn opportunities! Guild of Guardians is exactly what I have been dreaming of and is represents the future of gaming. Guild of Guardians will alter mobile gaming on the blockchain forever and truly push the needle.

Guild of Guardians is a multiplayer, fantasy, RPG that allows players to build a team of guardians to compete in a guild and earn epic prizes and blockchain assets. As a player, resources collected in dungeons will be used to create valuable items and heroes which can then be used in game or sold for actual out-of-game assets. By working with your guild members, you can strategize and plan to overcome various challenges and earn resources. By working together, you can truly progress, grow, and maximize profits. By grouping up, harder challenges can be faced and overcome!

Finally, a game that promises to be both fun and rewarding—I won’t have to sacrifice one for the other anymore. Best of all, the assets in the game are digital, rare, collectable, and tradeable—yes, I am talking (writing) about non-fungible tokens (NFT). These NFTs are all the rage and extremely popular and valuable within the crypto-space right now. Providing a game like Guild of Guardians ample fertile ground to push gaming in the crypto-space to new heights and revolutionize the concept of gaming for decades to come.

And the news only gets better. Guild of Guardians will be built on Immutable X, a L2 scaling solution. For those of us that aren’t particularly tech-savvy, what this means is that Guild of Guardians will not be plagued with the high gas fees that are impacting the market and causing everything to grind so slowly. Transactions on the blockchain will have zero gas fees and be virtually instantaneous. What is better than earning NFTs? Zero fees to transfer and claim them with little to no wait time.

So how does Guild of Guardians work? What does gameplay look like?

Players will bravely venture into dungeons to complete various challenges. By teaming up with guild members, players will be able to face tougher challenges and earn even greater rewards! Within the dungeons, players will earn resources, currency, and equipment.

By using these resources, players can create and upgrade heroes and create equipment.

Heroes in Guild of Guardians are unique characters that venture into the dungeon. Their characteristics determine their abilities and even what manner of resources they may gather. Each hero has a unique ability that influences what they can do in the dungeon, from dealing damage or buffing allies, to healing or clearing a room.

Equipment may be found, created, or even traded. There are hundreds of pieces of equipment just waiting to be used by players to achieve success in the dungeon challenges. Equipment impacts the ability scores of heroes and is extremely vital to success. Important to note here is that equipment is never for sale in the game, the equipment economy is 100% player driven. Every piece of equipment is found or crafted, never just purchased from a non-player.

Once new heroes and equipment are earned or created, these new assets can be used to complete harder challenges and the cycle continues. Each of these assets is valuable, tradeable, and owned by the player. Truly a revolution in mobile gaming and one of the most exciting gaming projects in the works.

Guild of Guardians is currently scheduled to be released in early 2022.
