F1 2021 Review

The F1 videogame series has been praised by critics over the years and enjoyed wide popularity among gamers. The title can be approached in either a competitive or playful manner by players. In fact, it is no mystery that F1 2020 last year and even before have become reference titles for all motorsport enthusiasts. It is due to a solid formula that features a driving model that is both realistic and modular. F1 2021 was enhanced by Codemasters with several new modes and added many more features. You should also note that the World Championship required an update to teams, drivers and circuits. Here is my F1 2021 review on PC.

VICTORY IS WHAT YOU DESIRE

The roster of modalities that the F1 series can boast seemed to have reached its peak with introducing "My Team" in F1 2020. This is the managerial role that involves managing an eleventh F1 World Championship team. This year, however, you will be able to enjoy a single-player mode, likely following the acquisition by EA Sports of Codemasters.

This is FIFA's "The Journey". Braking Point allows you to get immersed in paddock life, with a focus of rivalry. INTERNSIFY THE IMMERSION

Motorsport has also been affected by the strong push the gaming industry has received from the pandemic. Even the most skeptical have been convinced to play F1 2021 after seeing champions such as Charles Leclerc or Lando Norris using simulators and F1's official video game. F1 2021 sets the bar higher by offering improvements to its gameplay and a highly hybrid nature.

The changes in physics and sensations made by the single-seaters are evident from the very first meters. You will have a better understanding of the road surface. It will combine with better physics to make every vehicle move unpredictable and increase immersion.

Codemasters and EA Sports' F1 2021 can give emotions and driving precision with a pad or keyboard as a control device. You can adjust the simulation to your liking by using modular settings. The possibility to alter the mixture in real-time is not possible.

EVERY SMALL DETAIL

Codemasters has also tweaked the Artificial intelligence. It is now more aggressive and respectful than ever before. It is still limited in its interaction with cars that are not controlled by players. This is why I spent several minutes testing the race replays and watching them.

I was often confronted with cars that were more inclined to make contact than to avoid it in certain situations. This is likely to be due to pre-set trajectories, which aren't designed to handle multiple CPU-controlled cars. Developers also improved damage management.

The possibility of causing damage to various parts of the car, which requires more attention while driving, makes this even more fun. It was possible to damage the front wing in the past. F1 2021 will require you to pay close attention to every detail. Do not compromise by putting too many curbs. This will cause damage to the bottom of your car.

DEFINED AND DETAILED

F1 2021 is a video game that does not hide its cross-gen soul but at the same time treasures some next-gen implementations. The most notable improvement in graphics is the resolution of textures. The textures are more detailed and defined. This includes all surrounding elements.

The card has incredible optimization and a high level of visual quality. I can reach 60 fps at Ultra in 2K on a mid-range card like the RTX3060. You can also activate ray tracing, which will provide you with even more detailed reflections at the expense of a few lost frames. Even with the smallest details, we are far from perfect. However, Codemasters' F1 2021 allows you to breathe a hint of photorealism that I hope to see in the future. A sound sector with excellent audio samples is equal to the engine and vehicle sounds.

We must not forget the commentary. Absolute class! You can complete the game with both drivers and tracks. You will find a DLC for free later in the year, which will add the circuits at Portimao, Jeddah, and Imola. They were not present at launch.
