Dark and Darker Guide: A Warlock Build That Doesn't Use Magical Healing in the New Season

Following the Dark and Darker game version update, an innovative Warlock build has emerged that will abandon traditional magical healing and instead focus on raw power and strategy to overwhelm the competition. Every choice in the build will directly affect the match's outcome.

Soul Collector Strategy

Central to this build is the Soul Collector perk. Contrary to popular belief, this perk is a hidden gem that can significantly increase the damage output of your dark magic spells. The key spell in this build is Dark Arrow, which, when empowered by Soul Collector, can deal devastating damage to your opponents, kill enemies quickly, and accumulate Dark and Darker Gold. The beauty of this perk is that it only consumes stacks when you cast dark spells, allowing you to build up strength before unleashing a powerful attack.

For mid-budget to lower-end kits, It's more optimal to be a hybrid than a full caster. Most people won't have +10 magic heal in their kit to make hydra casting worth running. As for soul collector, The bolt of darkness hits like a truck, and I use it when they at least expect it for a huge burst.

Bolt of Darkness is hard to miss up close due to its humungous hitbox. Caster Warlock isn't WEAK, per se. Full optimized caster warlock is EXPENSIVE atm. And I lean towards what's more effective in terms of how much it costs VS how it performs. With this setup, I AM a caster until my opponent forces me to quit casting.

Damage and healing skills

While this build doesn't rely on magical healing, it does incorporate passive healing via the Torture Mastery perk. Think of it as a health potion activated when you cast spells on mobs and players. Additionally, the Malevolence and Dark Reflection bonuses will increase your magic damage output and add surprising hits when you're in melee range.

Use the long sword to change the rules of the game.

Adding the longsword to this Warlock build is a strategic choice to compensate for the limitations of stacking magic damage through gear. Buy a longsword with Dark and Darker Cheap Gold to block and counter in combat. Plus, Corruption Strike can be a game-changer in melee combat. This weapon demands respect from the opponent and can turn the tide of battle in the Warlock's favor.

And when they get into melee range, they eat a 120-damage riposte and all sorts of hell that comes with tanking a BoC long sword. I'm combining the best of both worlds with this set; You can kit this up with magic heal and knowledge and still spam curses. That's fine, But what I'm adding to the kit is the potential to make a surprise comeback with a long sword.

You don't have that with a full caster build, which runs a crystal sword as a secondary. This build is a higher skill ceiling build due to having to master a whole new weapon.

Why not build Cter?

You may be wondering why this guide doesn't recommend the once-popular version of Cter. The answer is simple: Cter builds have lost their edge. Since magic damage can't be stacked like before, other avenues of damage must be explored, and this is where the longsword comes into play.

How to master the long sword better?

It's worth noting that long swords require skill and practice. This build is not for the faint of heart or the inexperienced. But for those willing to master the sword, the rewards are great. The gameplay showcases the effectiveness of this build, with the Warlock dispatching enemies with ease and demonstrating the raw power of this unconventional setup.

This Warlock build is a testament to the continued evolution of gameplay in Patch 18. By ditching magical healing and adopting a more aggressive approach, you can unlock new levels of dominance on the battlefield. Remember, the key to success with this build is practice and precision.
