Could Star Wars Come to The Sims 4?

Sims 4 Speculation and News

I have been a fan of both the Sims and Star Wars for a long time now, so imagine my surprise when rumors started circulating recently of the possibility of a new Star Wars themed gamepack coming! Let's dive in. So, on April 6th, the Sim Guru team announced a six-month roadmap for new content.

We know the Eco Lifestyle expansion pack released on June 5th, and the Nifty Knitting stuff pack on July 28th, which puts our expected game pack release date somewhere in early October. Now, we can reasonably assume their will probably be another expansion pack even after this for the holidays, but that's another topic. So far, we have not received many hints as to what this gamepack could be. It has been a point of interest and speculation. We do know it's been called "a major first" for the Sims, which could rule out a generations or occult theme. Many believe a farming or winter holiday theme is likely. However, on August 2nd, a picture was spotted on the EA's own website with a new icon assumably from the upcoming gamepack currently in development.

Many fans quickly made comparisons to the Star Wars universe, and Batuu in Galaxy's Edge in particular. The three dots very much resemble moons, the shape on the right is very close to a spire, and the rounded building on the left is close to the architecture we have come to associate with Star Wars. I do not think that the three circles look like snowflakes, and that this is the icon to a winter holiday theme. There were many other hints that we could see a winter theme in the future, but personally I don’t this is it. There were polls and surveys that circulated that hinted heavily on winter sports, resorts, and such, which could be cool. But could this be possible? An actual SW connection? Well, it's not actually out of the realm of possibility. It's been done before. The Sims have had SW costumes for a while, as shown in the first picture. As well, a baby Yoda statue was included as a Christmas gift last December. As an aside, I am fully aware that this is not actually Yoda. He died before the events of the Mandalorian. To me, baby Yoda is just some how easier to say than The Chid.

So, what do you think? Are we getting a full-blown Star Wars game pack? Is this all just clever marketing to produce conversation and test reactions? I do not think it would be a horrible idea, but they would have to be careful about how they create this very expansive world. There is just too much I would want to see added, that to do it justice would not be possible. Anyone for separate worlds for each of the planets?? Yep, sign me up - the beautiful lakes of Naboo, the hustle and bustle of neon Coruscant, and the adventurous danger of sandy Tatooine. We have never actually gotten to see Alderaan on film for any credible amount of time, so this would delight me as well. As always, friends, this is all speculation and guess until the next gamepack is officially announced. I know this is not what everyone would want, and not everyone can be satisfied at once. I would much rather the Sims 4 team spend more time on game updates, bug fixes, and improving the great game they have before adding on more very specific content. I’m looking at you babies and animals! More inclusive content for other cultures and time periods would also be nice. Nonetheless, I will continue to play the game and enjoy its future.
