Call of Duty has always been a genre-defining franchise by reaching into the realm of 'what's next?' That's one of the reasons why the franchise has the fan base that it does.

Call of Duty always pushes the boundaries of fiction and reality, combining them them in order to introduce us to a world that could be, especially in the most recent iterations of the franchise.

Call of Duty has taken us everywhere it seems over the last 13 years, we've:

  • Gone back to World War II and Vietnam,
  • Looked at the advancement of Modern Warfare.
  • We've walked in the shadows of ghosts
  • Seen the potential future of advanced warfare

And now it seems that we will get to experience war in space with the upcoming Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

All in all, Call of Duty has never failed to entertain and draw the masses to the various games over the years, and I had the pleasure of experiencing an advanced copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered for the PS4. Considering how pivotal the original was when it released in 2007, I can say that I was genuinely geeked to play the game that redefined the FPS with its revamped multiplayer and sensational campaign modes.

Modern Warfare Was Pivotal to the Franchise

Now, ultimately the revolutionary multiplayer is what many players remember, but for me it was the campaign mode that stuck out. And as a gamer who didn't really play online at all, the single-player campaign was my jam back in the day. So seeing the gorgeous campaign mode revived was more than a little nostalgic for me. The single player campaign in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is still pure fun, and is a no-nonsense, down-to-earth revival of what makes Call of Duty what it is.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was as I said earlier, a pivotal addition to the franchise and the remaster does nothing but bring back the glorious game nut now with high-def graphics, HDR lighting and the gritty realism that has been missing from the current advancement into the future of warfare. Check out the trailer below and let the nostalgia seep in.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remaster is available in conjunction with the Digital Deluxe or Legacy Editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and it's totally worth pre-ordering now to have instant access to the single-player campaign and then when Infinite Warfare officially releases in November, there will be access to the online multiplayer campaign.

Are you ready to experience both the nostalgic Modern Warfare and step into the future with Infinite Warfare?

This is my favorite part of COD. The game is really good and that's why I'm so glad that the version has been refreshed.
