5 Apps Falsely Advertised
When the Ad you watched lied again. :(
I don't enjoy false advertisements. I have an associates in business management, and there's a lot about false advertisement that was drilled into my head. It's unethical, it's shady, and there are serious consequences to businesses that falsely advertise to increase profits. Going to prison is included in fraudulent activities. I don't know how well this applies to mobile game app advertisements. But I do know I've found more mobile app games that have been falsely advertised as play-to-win, and I'm going to do a couple of short reviews on a few of them below.
1 Forest Solitaire
This was advertised as something you could win a good chunk of changes on. I knew it was highly unlikely due to the exaggerated numbers in the advertisement. This game is a typical solo Solitaire game. It has a very straightforward system. You win coins to buy different decks and the 4 various boosts/power-ups. You can do daily challenges and such, but other than that, there is nothing unique about this game. If you enjoy playing solitaire, it's not a bad app to play. But, if you download it because you saw an ad saying you could win real cash playing the game, it could be very disappointing.
I do wish I could say more, but... it's such a straight forward game that there's nothing else to explain.
2. Plinko Carnival
This game is brightly colored.and it’s lot of fun to play. And by fun I mean when you’re up at 1:40 in the morning like me with “can’t sleep syndrome,” the thing about this game is it makes it look like you’re winning money. It even keeps tally on how much you’re making- but there is NO cash out button at all!
3. Bounce Score
The loading page for this also says, “Pixiballs.” This game was advertised as a FTP/PTW (free-to-play and play-to-win) game in the ad I saw for it. When I opened the app, it was one of those games where you shoot the ball and watch a lot of balls bounce up and hit colored bricks to make them disappear. No winning anything involved, just gradually more difficult stages.
4. Natural World Match 3 (Nature Match)
Why this game was advertised as a “play to win” game, I have no idea. It’s a typical match 3 game, using pictures of mushrooms, flowers, water and fruit. There seem to be hundreds of levels one can play. The art is amazing, and it’s a beautiful game. But there’s no cash at all in the game, there’s not even any ads as far as I could tell playing the game.
5. Cash Frenzy
This one was a bit confusing. The ads that come with it make it seem like you can win BIG! Really BIG! Win cash frenzy rewards! And the name of the game - cash frenzy? C’mon that’s plainly misleading. But no… with this casino slot game you can win big fake money. It’s just to simulate a casino experience m. You can pay for coins (which why anyone would when you could win them for free is beyond me)- but you can’t win any real currency here.
My 5-year-old daughter is competing in Nationals at the All American Miss Pageant in Orlando Fl, during Thanksgiving Week this year. It is being hosted by National American Miss. We are trying to raise money for hotel costs, her casual modeling outfit, and her formal gown, and to submit her portfolio in a Photogenic. All money I make off of Vocal will be going straight to her Pageant.
If you are inspired by my “amazing” writing (haha!) to donate to Aylaina-Sky's pageant, please tip this story! Every dollar helps!
