Mastermind Behind Airport Attack.

Cartoon of Taliban Fighter.

Who can ever forget the terrible scenes of people fighting to get on board Allied planes leaving Kabul Airport? Hordes of humanity fought to get aboard as the Americans, British, Germans, and others departed Afghanistan. Those lucky enough to board planes will have started new lives in other nations. Many were left behind while others found other ways of getting out.

The Taliban are the power in the vacuum of power now ruling Afghanistan. Despite reassurances on women's rights, protection of other faiths, etc, the Taliban turned out to be the same old regime. Mark 2 Taliban turned out to be a lie as Taliban 1.0 emerged again to implement their severe understanding of Quoranic law.

The West went in after the 9/11 attacks because the Taliban were harbouring Al Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden. The Taliban fell from power and retreated to safe havens like Pakistan. There then followed a war between the Allies and the Taliban. This conflict lasted longer than the 1st World War and 2nd World War combined. Trump agreed a withdrawal date with the Taliban and Biden followed up on it. The withdrawal of Americans and their Allies was compared to the chaotic Vietnam pullout in 1975. The Western-trained armed forces of the Afghan government melted away as Taliban forces advanced. The then President of Afghanistan fled across the border with money and other material goods.

The Taliban government stands sanctioned and struggles to feed its people. Aid organisations are allowed to operate in the country. China so far seems to be the only government that has made relations with the Taliban. Most governments in the world do not recognise the regime of the Taliban.

Obviously, there are channels where countries like the US communicate with the Taliban. Whether the regime of Afghanistan will gain recognition officially by other nations remains to be seen.

As the conflict between NATO nations and the Taliban raged on Islamic State gained a foothold. Following their defeat in Iraq and Syria IS fled to other places where they could set up anew. They entered Afghanistan and viewed both the Taliban and NATO as enemies. Islamic State one would have thought would have been a natural ally of the Taliban. Not so, a group like Islamic State consider the Taliban extremist. For extremist groups like IS to say the Taliban are extreme means the Taliban are ultra-extreme.

There is now a war going on between the Taliban and Islamic State. It is now the turn of the Taliban to face what NATO faced. As NATO fought a guerilla war with the Taliban now the Taliban fight that kind of war with Islamic State. As you sow so shall you reap, karma, what comes round goes round, these are the words that come to mind.

The Taliban in operations against Islamic State strongholds in the south of Afghanistan killed the Mastermind behind the Kabul airport attack of August 2021. At the time the Taliban say they did not know they had killed the Mastermind of the airport attack. Military channels in the US told the families of the 13 US servicemen who died in the attack. 170 Afghans mostly innocent bystanders died also in the attack.

Associated Press and other news outlets were informed of the assassination of the Taliban leader. With the Taliban not knowing (or so they say) it is not like the operation was carried out with the knowledge of the US and others. Of course, the CIA and others could have been on the ground or even special forces observing the Taliban (perhaps even infiltrating the Taliban) might know of this. Of course, as with NATO special forces and intelligence agents on the ground in Ukraine, Western nations will never openly admit this.

Taliban has taken out the IS leader who killed the US serviceman and the innocent Afghans. This may come as some comfort to the families whose relatives died that day.
