...oops! Did I buy that?

It’s late, it’s early, I’m bored, I can’t sleep, whatever the reason... “oops I just bought something else”. Oh well, can’t wait to open the package when it arrives! A peek into a few items that were great, just ok, and down right terrible.

4 Items recently purchased that were great, just ok, and downright terrible.

1. Cat Cave - All in all, pretty great!

I woke up like any other Saturday morning. I went to the kitchen to brew a cup of coffee, sit in my cozy kitchen chair While I scroll mindlessly on social media. Just then I got a *PING*!

From my Mom... speaking on Rosie’s behalf:

Rosie, likely begging for more scratchin’s

Of course I let out a chuckle because I find this hilarious. We don’t have pets at our house. Not because we don’t like them but because it doesn’t make sense for us. Our schedules are all over the place and well I don’t have to explain this...anyway...

I thought this was perfect timing...I had LITERALLY just discovered an Ad on Facebook for this thing called : Cat Cave

A screenshot of my receipt & coupon code

I have to say, I was a little nervous after I placed the order. The page said that the items are handmade in Nepal and sometimes take a few weeks. Also they noted that since they are handmade each one varies slightly. The last part...no problem...the first part? I was thinking I would probably never see this item or it might take months to arrive.

I got the Cat Cave in 5 DAYS!

I ordered the product on Saturday.

The product shipped on Monday.

The product arrived on Thursday.

Operation: Inspect!

All in all, I would say Rosie loves it! My mom even sprayed some cat nip in there and she was having a good ole’ time!

They had A LOT of different options on their website.

Top Left is the one I purchased and it was almost identical

Here are some of the more eccentric & expensive ones

I’m not going to lie... I really wanted to get her one of these because they are both adorable and hilarious. However... there was no way I was going to splurge and spend that much LOL

Let’s face it, whether you have owned a cat or known someone with a cat... they are pretty unpredictable animals when it comes to cat products. We tease them, we taunt them, and for the most part getting a reaction out of a cat is half the fun of having one. I’m just not going to spend that much on a cat bed. Besides, I don’t think Rosie is going to be upset that she didn’t get the Fairy house. 😂

2. Shein - If you have a teenage daughter you probably already know what I’m about to say. - The “Just Ok” product(s)

I do like how each item comes in its own little ziplock baggie Haha

Their clothing sizes are ALL.OVER.THE.PLACE. I have two teens that order from there periodically and I would say 20% of the items in each shipment they don’t like, it‘s too big/too small, or its terrible quality and falls apart.

Then again, can you really complain when the items are so cheap? I suppose that’s why we continue to gamble with their products. We don’t even bother returning them because they end up giving them to another friend or we donate them to a donation place like Goodwill.

3. Happy Dance - Not bad, not bad

If you don’t read anything I write today, do yourself a favor and at least watch this HILARIOUS ad for Kristen Bell’s new product line.

I splurged and got “The Feel-Good Bundle”

Honest review: I wanted to try CBD products and didn’t know what to get.

I could not tell a difference in my bath using the bath melts.

The body butter smells weird and leaves a weird film on your skin. BUT I did feel a little more “chill” after using it.

The Coconut Melt —> AMAZING. I do love this product. I feel chill, my skin feels smooth/better, it smells mildly like coconut, I LOVE IT. Here’s the downside about this product: Have you ever purchase coconut oil from the baking section? That’s what it looks like and that is the texture. I stole one of my sons guitar picks to scrape it out of the container. Will I buy it again? Yep! But only the coconut melt... I typically apply it behind my neck, on my chest, and on my feet and night. I sleep like a baby every.single.time.

4. Ramindong Hair Straightener- The terrible, absolute TERRIBLE purchase

Technically, this one is on my mom. She had a Facebook Ad come across advertisting for this magical hair straightener. A brush/straightener all in one. First off, let’s start with the name: RAMINDONG. It makes me laugh.

I can’t even find a direct link for this product. It brings up all kinds of foreign online sites with different names. The product design is terrible.

1. It’s heavy

2. The power on/off button it’s LITERALLY where you would put your thumb to hold the product. So you are constantly turning the item on/off while trying to use it.

3. It’s just not good. Do yourself a favor anew invest in a real hair straighener.

Here’s where it gets super fun. The product was $40. My mom doesnt like chatting with customer service so she typically asks me for assistance.

Let’s take a look at the first text message/screenshot she sends me:

She has already reached out to the company to let them know she isn’t satisfied with the product and would like a refund. Here is their reply:

Let’s keep in mind the product was $40. They are offering her a $12.90 refund.

Mom - Black | My responses - Blue

As you can see, I wasn’t letting her accept $12.90. I typed up a reply for her to copy/paste back to the representative.

In short... this is what they replied. My mom just typed the gist of it in a message to me.

$21.51 was the final offer. WHAT?!

The options they provided were essentially the same.

You either got $21.51 and kept the product.

Or you got $40 back but had to pay for $20 shipping to return the product. So you still technically only got $20.

WHAT IN THE WORLD?! Also, I would like to know why $21.51. Why not $21.57 or $21.62 or $21.87. I felt like at this point they were just pulling numbers out of their rear.

This was a super shady company. I felt like it wasn’t a real business and they were selling a knock off product.

So there you have it! I will say that I have learned (most) of my lessons. Anytime I see an ad for something I *might* be interested in purchasing, I look up the company. I try to find as many reviews as possible OUTSIDE of their website/social media. I don’t always trust the reviews on their site. For all I know they made them all up. I am a more skeptical shopper.
