Gossip or Truth?

Is It Still Gossip If Your Telling The Truth?

Who gets to decide?

I recently went to the grocery store and when I was about to go through the check out, a headline on a magazine caught my attention. I couldn't believe it, did you know that Elvis is still alive? (Where have they been hiding him?)

A psychology philosopher stated that gossip is typically true.

"So if it is misinformation we have characterized, than that is known as a rumour."

A Social Science University class stated that gossip is defind as a way of communicating with others. It is usually based on an individual who isn't present at the time, where an evaluation of that person, (in a positive way or in a negative way is addressed).

Today gossip is in fact very common and it is a way in society to feel like you fit in with others, or have something to share.

Wouldn't It Be Nice To Decide

I personally think of New York as this big beautiful city, with beautiful fashion, celebrities and everything is just perfect. After all it is the "Big Apple" - "apples are good for you, they keep the doctor away".

The reality of it, it is no different than many other cities in the world.

Who Is Right And Who Is Wrong?

I know that we have all had to experience this in our lives, two or more children are playing on the playground. Now you hear someone say "He started it, it's all his fault."

Words of blame and shame. These words go nowhere in relationships today. The "who did it" leads to finger pointing. So in fact if you didn't see what happened than how do you really know who is right or who is wrong.

Is Gossiping Healthy?

Everyone knows that when you do gossip about someone it can be very damaging, it has lead several people to depression and unworthiness.

Gossip can also be a good thing - its a way to interact with each others (especially now, using social media all the time).

If you are using gossip as a position of power eventually you will have many regrets. You will become unlikeable, untrustworthy and known as weak.

So when you do socialize with others really get to know them, the real facts. Work hard on being good friends and being there for each other with common interests. After all no one wants to be hurt.

Celebrity Gossip

Gossip usually refers to people we know fairly well.

Now when it comes to celebrity gossip and it is real gossip - especially when it comes to certain stars and the media coverage. They do their best to make us feel like we know them really well.

I personally feel that celebrity gossip is a door/or entry way for the media to tell personal information (right or wrong). Often celebrities are uncomfortable letting others know things about their life. After all they have another life other than being a star. (its not easy letting others know certain things - they are really like you and I)

Another example is that the majority of celebrities never use their real names. One big example would be the famous "John Wayne" - well known for western and war movies. His real name is "Marion" (a more common name for a girl), he also went by the name "Duke", portraying a strong hero in the movies.

In conclusion of right verses wrong, gossip verses truth. Research shows that false rumours really do travel faster and is further than the truth. Lets all stick together, do our best, get the facts and "tell the truth".

"Tell the truth, if you don't somebody else might tell it for you"
