Introduction:

November 26 is celebrated as Constitution Day in India. This day is also known as National Law Day. Everyone knows why we celebrate Independence Day and Republic Day. The history and significance of the Indian Constitution and the role it plays in the country's government and legal system. But many of us do not know the reason for celebrating Constitution Day. In this post you can see what Constitution Day is and why it is celebrated.

Adoption of the Constitution:

Constitution Day is a day to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. 1949 was adopted by the Constituent Assembly of India on the same day. That is why we celebrate November 26th as Constitution Day and January 26th as Republic Day.

Constitution Day from 2015:

Constitution Day was absent until Constitution Day 2015. 2015 is the most important reason to declare this day as Constitution Day. That year was the birthday of PR Ambedkar, the first Law Minister of our country and the father of the Constitution of India. The government has decided to celebrate his 125th birthday and declared November 26 as Constitution Day. On November 19, 2015, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment announced the Government of India's decision to celebrate November 26 as 'Constitution Day'.

Constitution Day of India aims to create awareness about the Constitution of India and the importance of its sculptor, Dr. PR Ambedkar.

What is Republic Day:

Republic Day is celebrated on January 26th each time. It marks the day on which the Constitution of India came into effect, replacing the Government of India Act( 1935) as the governing document of India. The Constitution was took on by the Constituent Assembly on November 26, 1949, and came into effect on January 26, 1950, which is why this date is celebrated as Republic Day. On this day, the President of India delivers a speech to the nation and there are processions and artistic programs held throughout the country, with the main carnival taking place in the capital city of New Delhi. Republic Day is a time for Indians to celebrate their country's rich artistic heritage and to recognize the ideals of republic, equivalency, and justice outlined in the Constitution.

Difference between Republic Day and Constitution Day:

January 26 Republic Day is something we all know. That is, the day our country became a republic on January 26, 1950. What is the difference between Republic Day and Constitution Day of India?

First Session

The Constituent Assembly, the body that drafts the Constitution of India, held its first session on December 9 1946, which was attended by 207 members, including 9 women. Initially, the Assembly had 389 members, but after independence and the partition of India the number was reduced to 299. The draft committee headed by Ambedkar is one of the more than 17 committees of the Constituent Assembly. Their task was to prepare a draft constitution for India. Of the approximately 7,600 amendments proposed, the panel removed about 2,400 amendments during the debate and consultation on the Constitution.

Last Session:

The last session of the Constituent Assembly ended on November 26, 1949 and the Constitution was adopted. To commemorate this and to commemorate Ambedkar, the Modi-led government declared this day as the Constitution Day of India.

Two months after the last session, the Constitution of India became law on January 26, 1950, signed by 284 members. The two-month period between the adoption and implementation of the Constitution was used to read and translate the entire text from English to Hindi. It is noteworthy that the Constituent Assembly convened approximately 166 days before the adoption of the Constitution.

There are many loopholes in our laws. The reason is that it has been many years since the law was enacted. Laws are being amended today. However, its speed is not enough. We hope that many laws will be amended soon and many loopholes will be removed.

Let us remember and worship Ambedkar who gave us the constitutional laws.

Let's wake up! We will stand in front and build a better society.

Thanks!
