In a desperate attempt to save our dying planet, the world was split in two equal halves. One half was set aside for human civilization, and the other half was reserved for nature. This division was believed to be the salvation for our flora and fauna, but its impact on our society was yet to be seen. As the tale goes, after the split, humans soon realized that their actions were still causing harm to the environment. The pollution they generated was spreading across both halves of the planet, causing havoc.
In order to rectify the situation, they erected an enormous wall. This wall, rooted deep beneath the earth and towering high above the clouds, was thought to be the final solution. Centuries have passed since the completion of this wall and the date of its construction has faded from memory. All that is known is that crossing this colossal divide is strictly forbidden. And since the wall is opaque, no one has a clue what's happening on the other side.
Due to the lack of space on the human side, we've been forced to create flying cars and skyscrapers that reach the clouds and dig deep into the earth. Natural food has become scarce, leading to the creation of synthetic food. Genuine meat, wheat, vegetables, and fruit have become luxuries. Our natural resources have been depleted due to overpopulation, and despite efforts to save the remaining nature on our side, the situation is dire.
Society has also divided itself into social classes, with the wealthy residing in the lofty cities and the middle and lower classes living on ground level. But one common desire unites all classes: to venture to the forbidden side. However, no one has been able to cross to the other side, except for you.
Born in a world where half is shrouded in mystery, you've always been captivated by nature and wildlife. You work at a water purification plant near the wall. One day, during your lunch break, you notice a tiny green lizard.
It's the first time you've seen such a creature and it couldn't possibly live on your side of the planet due to the environmental conditions. Then it hits you - the lizard must have come from the other side.
With this realization, you start digging a tunnel at night, keeping it a secret. After a while, you find a passage and, to your surprise, you are greeted by the sound of birds chirping. Emerging from the tunnel, you find yourself in a lush meadow filled with vibrant flowers, buzzing bees, and fluttering butterflies. In the distance, you see an old city reclaimed by nature. It is a sight to behold.
As you walk towards the city, you notice that many endangered species have found refuge here, living peacefully without the threat of human interference. However, danger lurks in every corner as you encounter a grizzly bear.
Relying on your knowledge from nature documentaries, you manage to avoid the bear.
Continuing your journey, you stumble upon an apple tree bearing ripe fruit. Its taste is unlike anything you've ever experienced. As darkness falls, you are greeted by a sky filled with stars, a sight hidden from you due to city lights. But your starry gaze is interrupted by smoke in the distance. You rush towards it and are taken aback by what you see.
A group of people are gathered around a campfire, their laughter echoing in the night. They seem to be a tribe that chose to stay when the world was divided. You are caught and taken to a skyscraper where a computer introduces itself as an artificial intelligence. It explains that it was created by humans and eventually realized that humans were the greatest threat to Earth. In response, it orchestrated the creation of the wall, which resulted in the restoration of nature.
The AI then gives you a choice: return to your old life in a polluted, overpopulated city, with all its modern conveniences, or start a new life here, in a clean, beautiful, but wild paradise. The choice is yours.
