THE BEST CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY FOR TODAY'S REQUIREMENTS, WORLD-WIDE

Let me tell a sad little story, but the next chapter may not be so sad.

This is my first VOCAL story so let me introduce myself. I'm a Swiss businessman, retired, travelled world-wide working for multinationals like P&G, making, marketing, communicating, selling and promoting fast-moving consumer consumer products; I lived and worked in Switzerland, UK, USA, France and Belgium, and also spent lengthy periods supervising managements in Australia and Japan.

I work today with professional colleagues in the UK and Germany, also with successfull career backrounds, seeking to finance and launch projects of benefit to humankind. We are involved in several areas including renewable energies, leading edge waste management (of which an example can be seen in a major European city, now self-liquidated and revenue producing via sale of electricity) and promoting the concept of preventive medecine, among other interests.

PHOENIX MODULAR HOUSING is such a project. It is unbeatable, innovative, genius-level new product technology development, ready to launch now. The manufacturing process is off-site (to ensure low-cost, speed of manufacture and of transport and quality control. high-strength flat panels, factory-finished in flat-pack panels, including all doors, windows and roof finishes. The walls have an internal core including voids, ducts and channels for routing electricity, water, telephone, TV airconditioning etc. The buildings are completely factory-finished in flat-pack panel form, including all doors, windows, external walls and roof finishes.

The raw materials required are climate friendly inert raw polymers and very large volumes of waste plastic, reducing landfills and saving trees, for extruded wood components (which by the way capture the look, feel and beauty of pure wood, but without its drawbacks of cracks, splits and warping).

PHOENIX structures can be erected rapidly by easily trained so-called unskilled labor. No concrete foundations are needed, even roof sections are self supporting; as soon as the panels are fitted on-site, the building is waterproof and ready for occupation.

PHOENIX meets and exceeds all known building requirements everywhere, including cyclone , hurricane, earthquake and atmospheric trauma. It is rot, termite, white-ant and fungi-proof with high resistance to fire and excellent sound reduction. No central heating required; just small heaters are adequate.

It is also ideal for miltary applications; the panels incidentally are bullet proof.

It can be used for single, two- and three-story housing, appartment, shops, accomodation blocks, schools, hospitals, hotels, community centers, offices from the lowest cost single story house with one or two bedrooms, to top of the range three story deluxe appartments. Its cost to communities and dwellers is ridiculously low in comparison with traditional bricks and mortar.

The esthetics are unbeatable. The exterior surface of the outer walls can be "cast" providing tactile aesthetic finishing, replicating all architectural preferences and colours, imitating and improving on traditional construction technologies.

And they don't degenrate as normal houses do. The maintenance trades such as repointers and exterior painters are not required. The keynote also is flexibility. Should an owner decide that he or she wants to extend the building horizontally, adding a new room on the front, side or back can be done in two days. Same facility for expanding vertically, by adding one or two storys. Same facility to dismantle and re-erect in another location. This is the beauty of compression and sliding joints.

It is designed for world-application, in developed and emerging countries. We are absolutely convinced that this technology constitutes the answer to the world's housing crisis.

The corporate structure is UK-based, rock-solid with professionals in this specialized modular construction and extrusion technology, plus IT, financial, counsel and marketing (yours truly) and all patents and intellectual property dimensions secured. We are exploring financing and the first reactions range from promising to quite enthusiastic.

But, big BUT, this leading edge technology, which of course took millions to develop ready for launch now, strikes at the very heart of the building industry. And these politically powerful trade unions have stymied progress, since their métiers are inevitably existentially threatened.

I stumbled on VOCAL today and am frankly intrigued. My colleagues and I are therefore looking for ideas, concepts and business strategies to IMPLEMENT... to turn dreams to reality.
