Even though the first episode of Star Wars Rebels aired back in 2014, I did not have a chance to watch it until recently. While its main theme of good vs. evil and the coming of age story are nothing new, I was instantly hooked. Not many television series nowadays have orchestral soundtracks, let alone one of the same grandeur as John Williams.

Now the leader of the Galactic Empire, he had what he so desired: control of all citizens of the galaxy. But those meddling Rebels had to stick their nose in things and disrupt the order the Empire provided.

"Sometimes in war, it's hard to be the one that survives." This is what Commander Cody says to Captain Rex in Star Wars: The Clone Wars' Season 7 premier episode, when the latter talks about the clone brothers they've lost throughout the war. The clones have always been one of the most tragic parts of Star Wars. Created from birth to fight alongside, and eventually betray, their Jedi Generals, they were always intended to be a means to an end for Darth Sidious' rise to power. Though they were granted a degree of free will within their military ranks, they were secretly implanted with inhibitor chips which would make them turn on the Jedi at the uttering of three words; "Execute Order 66."

With about a month and a half to go until the latest Disney+ Star Wars live-action series, Obi-Wan Kenobi, is released, we are slowly getting more and more information about the Ewan McGregor-led show. We know it will take place around a decade after Revenge of the Sith and will involve McGregor watching over a young Skywalker while avoiding Darth Vader and his fearsome Inquisitors. We also know that Vader will be portrayed by Hayden Christensen for the first time since Revenge of the Sith, Moses Ingram will be playing an ambitious and ruthless Inquisitor, alongside Rupert Friend as the Grand Inquisitor. Other than that, the rest is speculative.

Many of these unworthy successors came from the innermost ranks of the Emperor's inner circle. One of them was a member of the most elite force in the entire empire, an Imperial Royal Guard who became Emperor in Legends.

However, fans may have just gotten a major update on one of the more anticipated series.

George Lucas seems to have a soft spot for beautiful Twi’lek women for whom, let’s say, a formal attire is not of the uttermost priority. When Lucas saw Aayla Secura on the cover of a Dark Horse comic, he decided to put her in Episode II, Episode III, and later in The Clone Wars. According to Paul Duncan, author of The Star Wars Archives: 1999 – 2005, Lucas’ outline for the sequel trilogy, that he handed over to Disney when selling the company, included Darth Talon as the main antagonist:

Culture SlatePublished 2 years ago in FuturismThe Similarities Of Dooku And Kylo Ren
At first glance, the two dark side characters of Count Dooku and Kylo Ren look like polar opposites and have nothing in common. Count Dooku was a highly formidable foe against the Jedi and was seen as calm and collected, even in battle with Jedi Masters. Even when he was captured by Hondo and his group of pirates, he managed to keep his cool and work together with Obi-Wan and Anakin Skywalker to escape, albeit through gritted teeth and immense sarcasm. Kylo Ren, on the other hand, is often seen as rash and over-volatile in both combat and while commanding the First Order. The dark side warlord had several fits of rage, resulting in him brandishing his red lightsaber and destroying equipment on his Star Destroyer, when learning of the escape of Poe and later Rey. But fans will be surprised to learn that, while the two characters that fell to the dark side aren’t identical, they do share surprising similarities.

*Spoilers for Star Wars: Doctor Aphra* If there's any Star Wars series that's never short on surprises, it's Doctor Aphra. Originally created by Star Wars comic giant Kieron Gillen, the series follows its titular protagonist, Doctor Chelli Lona Aphra, as she travels the Star Wars galaxy in search of bizarre beings and artifacts in the pursuit of money and notoriety. As an ongoing comic series, Doctor Aphra has explored topics and subjects that Star Wars as a franchise has never even thought about tackling before. One of the series' most notable aspects is its openly lesbian protagonist in Aphra herself, which plays into the character's complicated rivalry and on-and-off romance with Magna Tolvan; one of the comic's recurring antagonists.
