There are many Sith Lords in history who captured the imagination of Star Wars fans alike, namely Darth Vader, Darth Sidious, and Darth Maul from the Star Wars films. One particular Dark Lord of the Sith, who was not a Lucas creation, has captivated us. While he originated in a videogame, his staying power was so great that he is still remembered to this day. That Sith was Darth Revan, a legend in the time of the Old Republic. But the question here is who trained Revan? Who taught him his ways? Who shaped and influenced him when he was still a Jedi? Well the irony was that his teacher also became a fellow Sith. That person was Darth Traya, or as she was once known, Kreia.

With Star Wars being set a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, it may seem like the many wonderous locations showcased within are out of reach. This may be true for some of the set pieces, as they are studios specially built by the crew and often rely heavily on CGI. Fortunately for us however, a large number of these locales are filmed in real locations right here on Earth. Most of which either were already tourist attractions or have become attractions following the movie’s release.
Culture SlatePublished 3 years ago in FuturismThe Wii's Best 'Star Wars' Game Wasn't A 'Star Wars' Game
I don’t know about you, but when the Wii launched, I had one thought in my head: “Man it would be awesome to have a Star Wars game on the Wii.” The Wii’s use of motion controls and even the design of the Wii Remote scream "lightsaber!" The thought of using it to swing a lightsaber around in a video game still makes me excited to this day. However, my childhood dreams were never quite realized. The Wii did have some Star Wars games made for it, but a third of them were Lego games and the others were either ports, didn’t get the motion controls quite right, or both. It seemed like there would never be a game that was able to hone the motion controls and give me the sense of actually swinging a lightsaber in my hand. That changed when Grasshopper Manufacture and Suda 51 released No More Heroes.

One of the most popular video games among prequel era fans is LucasArt's Republic Commando. A first-person tactical shooter, Commando puts you in the combat boots of RC-1138, nicknamed "Boss," the leader of Delta Squadron, an elite unite of clone commandos. With the recent appearance of Scorch and Gregor in The Bad Batch, my interest in Commando has reached an all time high, and I think it is high time to give this game a playthrough. The following is a first time player’s honest thoughts, feelings, and reactions to an extremely beloved Star Wars gaming great. For the Republic!

Thanks to the success of The Mandalorian, Lucasfilm and Disney seem to have worked out the formula for making well-liked and successful TV shows based on stories and characters from the galaxy far, far away. They have also managed to bring some fan favorite characters from the animated shows to live-action, most popular of which was Ahsoka Tano in Season 2 of The Mandalorian. In the last week alone, we've also heard rumors of castings for live-action versions of the characters Grand Admiral Thrawn and Ezra Bridger, as well as another character reportedly ready to make the jump from the cartoons: Sabine Wren.

In the first article I wrote regarding Trevorrow's version of Episode IX, I discussed some of the key differences and similarities between the Episode IX we got with J.J. Abrams' The Rise of Skywalker and the Episode IX that could have been with Colin Trevorrow's proposed Episode IX, Duel of the Fates. Here, I plan to discuss some of my own thoughts about what ultimately worked better with The Rise of Skywalker and what might have worked better with Duel of the Fates, or at least some elements thereof.

Obi Wan Kenobi. That's a name we haven’t heard in a long time, a long time. However, we may be hearing that soon according to The Hollywood Reporter, as wrapping for the Obi-Wan series on Disney+ may be done, at least for Rupert Friend, who has now begun working on a new project for Wes Anderson films. This is a good sign, meaning that production for the series is well underway and not as troubled by things like production issues or COVID. It will mean that, very soon perhaps, even next year, we will have Obi-Wan Kenobi back on our screens, albeit being small ones as we see his series come soon to Disney +.
Culture SlatePublished 3 years ago in FuturismIs Leia Now A Disney Princess?
With Star Wars now a Disney property, Princess Leia has officially been brought into the Disney fold. Does that automatically qualify her as a Disney princess? Disney has a long and successful canon with its female protagonists and it has a specific formula for those who qualify as Disney princesses. While Leia fits into the new mold, Disney may have tight requirements.
