Coolest Observatories and Planetariums in the US
When is the last time you learned something about the universe? Observatories and planetariums are often overlooked compared to museums, aquariums, zoos, and galleries — and that's a shame!
Kelsey LangePublished 6 years ago in Futurism5 Articles About Earth and the Creatures on It That'll Shock the Crap Out of You
The scary thing about the fact that this kind of stuff actually does happen -- or will happen, or has happened right under our noses -- is that on the surface it's meh. I mean, so what! And that's part of the problem:

Matthew SullivanPublished 7 years ago in FuturismDo Aliens Walk Among Us?
Given all we know about the vastness of outer space, to think that humans are the only technologically advanced species in the universe is illogical, especially when you take into account that there are an estimated 100 billion galaxies in our Universe. Over 2,000 exoplanets have been discovered in our Universe alone that potentially have the right conditions to support life. Of course, it’s theory, but I'd like to believe there's something more out there.
Kelly HawksPublished 7 years ago in FuturismMost Powerful 'Star Wars' Jedi
United in their observance of the Force, the Jedi were the guardians of peace and justice throughout the galaxy. Noble beings from hundreds of worlds, they were. It is no easy task to decide which of these great knights were the most powerful. The Force moves in mysterious ways and to say one Jedi is more powerful than another based on his or her pure strength or abilities would be disingenuous. As Yoda said, “Size matters not...For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is.” Instead, we must look at the Jedi’s actions and potential in relation the challenges of their time. While much of the Expanded Universe is now Legends, it will not stop me from acknowledging some of its greatest Jedi and stories.
Bjorn BjornsonPublished 7 years ago in FuturismFour Sci-Fi Movies That Should Totally Get A Reboot
In general I hate the idea of rebooting or remaking a classic movie. They very rarely are as good as the original and come across as a lazily made cash grab which is exactly what they usually are. I mean if a movie is considered to be a timeless classic, why else would Hollywood feel the need to revisit that story? Take Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes for example. Did anybody working on this movie really believe they were producing something special? I highly doubt it.
Alan DobbinsPublished 7 years ago in FuturismTop 10 Sci-Fi Television Series
Sci-fi brings us elements like imagined futures, space travel, advanced technologies and life on faraway planets. A sci-fi television series allows us to see that there’s much more to the story. Week after week, we have the opportunity to get to know the characters and the story itself in far more depth and detail, which has peaked interest and introduced a whole new audience to the science fiction genre. Hell, there's an entire cable network devoted to sci-fi TV. The following sci-fi television series are some that paved the way to make the science fiction genre more popular than ever.
Kelly HawksPublished 7 years ago in FuturismTop 10 Sci-Fi Movies of the 1960s
While the ‘50s were the golden age of science fiction, the 60s were just as influential in today’s filmmaking. Many of the great 50s sci-fi flicks concentrated on aliens and monstrosities of science, while the 60s began to evolve science fiction through new technology and ideas.
Kelly HawksPublished 7 years ago in FuturismTop 10 Science Fiction Movies of the 1950s
The 1950s are known as "The Golden Age of Science Fiction Films," although many of these films are known today as “B” rated movies. They are riddled with corny dialogue, poor screenplays, bad acting, and amateurish production values. While many of these sci-fi “B” movies were unbelievably horrible by today's standards, there were some that shaped science fiction into what it is today.
Kelly HawksPublished 7 years ago in Futurism10 Reasons Aliens Would Invade Earth
Science fiction thrives off the idea that someday aliens are going to conquer the Earth. Whether they actually will or not, remains yet to be seen. If they were to invade, what logical reason would they have? Why would beings from a distant and technologically advanced civilization go to the expense and effort just to invade Earth?

In a world of weird, everyone needs a laugh. A variety of subgenres mesh well with science fiction, but comedy seems to add a new inventiveness to the whole equation. The seriousness of science and the hilarity of comedy together has given us some great iconic movies.

Formerly known as Anakin Skywalker in the first couple of movies, he became the Sith Lord known as Darth Vader. A former Jedi Knight, Vader became the partner of Emperor Palpatine, the evil emperor who rose to rule the galaxy. The original six Star Wars films are mostly about the rise and fall of Vader’s character. Vader is known to be the most feared character in the entire saga, who uses the dark side of the force to destroy anything that gets in his way. He wields a red lightsaber to kill others and is the most popular character in the Star Wars series.
