A Story of Happiness
It's too late for Christmas, but I wanted to give everybody here on Vocal a big gift of happiness for the holidays. Here's some real, observable happiness that you can apply to your life in anyway that you like. You can laugh at it; you can scoff at it. You can troll it. You can hate it. You can object to it. You can call it, and me, nasty names. You can seriously question my credentials and whether I have any right to be talking about stuff like this. (I don't; that's why I called it fiction.) But it remains a fact, that this piece of writing is a piece of happiness that was generated by the consciousness field in my brain, just for you people. I enjoyed writing it, and I enjoyed sharing it, and it is real happiness made by me for you. I hope it gives you as much pleasure to receive it as it does me to give it.

Part 1: Before Home I’ve never been alone. Even as a vignette I was surrounded by scientists in a lab. They would spend their time learning about us and arguing about who knew more. There were also people in grey overalls who would help us by giving us water, changing the art in the room, and talking to us. I used to wish they could understand what we were saying. They were better than the scientists in my opinion. When my triad was abloom, I was moved to a room with warm lamps and threads of all lengths. Once a month, a person who did not work in the lab would come in accompanied by someone in grey overalls and pick one of us to leave. We would all be excited to see one of the kind workers, but the other people were usually annoying. They would look around and call us pretty or they would make their voice high and ask us questions as if they could understand our answer.

In an overwhelming swell of loneliness and resignation, he pressed the power button on the headset, connected it to his phone, quickly agreed to some terms and conditions on the Meta app and finally put on the new Infinity Quest virtual reality headset.

Wizards, dragons, and elves! Oh, My! Let's face it, as an adult or child, we all wanted to fly on the back of a dragon or destroy the evil wizard. Some of us wished we could save Fantasia with Falcor. Still, in the end, reality hits, and we're back in our crazy world devoid of imagination, magic, and dragons. While a case can be made for dragons and magic, our best chance of living the fantasy life is by delving into books. Those are fantasy or epic fantasy.

As a fantasy author, magic has taken the primary stage in life and my imagination. I grew up reading Dragonlance novels and authors like Saberhagen, Moorcock, and others. Movies like Excaliber with Merlin, Conan, and The Neverending Story fueled my imagination as a kid and continued as an adult. I've played Dungeons & Dragons and went on to create a whole new world for my fantasy stories: Aria, the World of Twilight. The one thing that stands out is the magic and the wizards, both men and women, elf and human alike, wielding its immense power.

With daylight dawning, Caden and Trace prepared to leave the sonic they camped at. They both felt confident because where they were alone the previous night, today they were with an ally and stocked upon resources. The boys grabbed some food supplies that were non perishable with a long shelf life. The nanites harvested materials from useful components such as computer terminals, blenders, speakers and other miscellaneous equipment with rare materials.

PLEASE NOTE: Although this is an effective ritual, DO NOT attempt to do a cord cutting on someone if you even remotely suspect that they are your SPLIT SOUL or TWIN FLAME. You can cause serious damage to both yourself and your loved one. They are you and you are they. That is why I always say this as a last resort. IF YOU EVEN suspect they fall into this category, do not do this with them!

Today was my birthday, January 22. I know, I know, I should be happy. I should be leaping for joy. Any newly thirteen-year-old kid would be, why aren’t I?

The snow was falling steadily outside Kira’s bedroom window, illuminated by the yellow glare of the nearby streetlight. She was lying in bed watching it fall and thinking of him. Again. Always him. Whenever there was a moment where the duties of a Clan-Daughter did not otherwise occupy her mind, she was thinking of him and his damned piercing hazel eyes. The way he looked at her made her uncomfortable. It made her face flush and her heart race. It paralyzed her, and she didn’t enjoy that feeling. Not at all. It made her feel vulnerable. Yet, here she was, nowhere near him and still thinking about him. His head tilted to one side as he watched her pass by. He would let out a low whistle when she did. He had one stubborn dark curl that framed his right eye. The man was nothing short of gorgeous.
A Man Arrives in Town
Setting: Small western town (similar to the town in the movie “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly). Scene 1 - Overview A man wakes up on a bed inside a cramped, dimly lit old room. He’s dazed and groggy, but otherwise healthy. As he opens his eyes, he squints because a ray of sun streams in through a tiny, old window. He slowly gets out of bed, walks toward the window and sees a dusty, red road littered with tumbleweeds and hears the dull murmur of people walking around outside.
